Lynn-Avon United is a semi-professional association Football club based in New Lynn, Auckland, New Zealand. Their first team plays in the Lotto Sport Italia NRFL Division 1. History The club was formed in 1996 through an amalgamation of Lynndale (originally Lyndale) AFC and Avondale United. These two teams had a common origin, Lynndale having split from Avondale FC in 1947. Avondale later changed their name to Red Shield and then Avondale United. Ken Maunder Park
Ken Maunder Park, previously known as Rewa Park is a reserve and sports ground in the suburb of New Lynn in Auckland, New Zealand. It is the home ground of Lynn-Avon United and the Suburbs Cricket Club. History The area south-east of Ken Maunder Park was traditionally known to Tāmaki Māori as Kotuitanga, and was an important point along Te Tōanga Waka, the Whau River portage, as this marked the point where the river was no longer navigable by canoe. In 1852, a farmer Henry Hayr had a cattle run on the land before, in 1854, he brought the original 84 acres from the Crown. The area became known as “Hayr's Grant” then went through a number of ownership changes and was sub divided a number of times, until in 1887 two brothers Henry and James Binsted who were also butchers, purchased nearly 19 acres of the former ground and set up their own slaughterhouse. Ellerslie AFC is an association football club based in Ellerslie, New Zealand. The senior team currently competes in the NRFL Championship. Club history Ellerslie AFC’s history goes back to the original founding of the Auckland Football Association in 1887, whereby it was one of the seven clubs to participate in the Association’s inaugural competition. The Club continued into the second season of organised soccer in Auckland, but, like the playing of the game at that time, did not continue past that point. Auckland football had slipped into a period of recess, due to the lack of suitable grounds, and Ellerslie became an early victim of the break in competition. Three Kings United Football Club is a youth football club based in Three Kings, Auckland, New Zealand. They previously competed in the Lotto Sport Italia NRFL Division 1, with their last appearance coming in 2019. In 2020, Three Kings United merged with Onehunga Sports to form Auckland United, which assumed Onehunga's position in the 2020 NRFL Premier season; the club's youth and social sectors remain in operation. The Kate Sheppard Cup, currently known as the New Zealand Football Foundation Kate Sheppard Cup for sponsorship purposes, is New Zealand's premier knockout tournament in women's association football. Founded in 1994, it was known as the Women's Knockout Cup, until it was renamed in 2018. What would have been the 2020 edition of the competition, was cancelled because of COVID-19 but the competition continued again in 2021. New Lynn is a residential suburb in West Auckland, New Zealand, located 10 kilometres to the southwest of the Auckland city centre. Sean Devine
Sean Thomas Devine (born 6 September 1972) is a retired professional footballer who played as a striker. Biography He began his career with Millwall. Having spent time on loan with Woking in 1992, he spent two years with Bromley and one with Fisher Athletic before moving to Cyprus to play for Anorthosis Famagusta in the summer of 1995. Four months later, he returned to England and signed for Barnet. Devine was Barnet's top scorer for three seasons and in 1996 he was offered a trial at Premiership club West Ham United.
