2010 Dubai Sevens
The Dubai Sevens was played annually as part of the IRB Sevens World Series for international rugby sevens (seven-a-side version of rugby union). The 2010 competition was held on December 3 and December 4 at The Sevens. It was the first of eight events in the 2010–11 IRB Sevens World Series. This was the third edition of the Dubai Sevens to be held at The Sevens. Previous editions were held at the Dubai Exiles Rugby Ground. This was the final tournament for the host Arabian Gulf team. Following the tournament, the team and its governing body, the Arabian Gulf Rugby Football Union, disbanded in order to facilitate a major reorganisation of the sport in the region. 2009 Dubai Sevens

The 2009 competition was held on December 4 and December 5 at The Sevens. It is the first of eight events in the 2009–10 IRB Sevens World Series. New Zealand won the tournament with a 24–12 victory over Samoa in the final. This was the second edition of the Dubai Sevens to be held at The Sevens. Arabian Gulf Rugby Union Team (sevens)
The Arabian Gulf rugby sevens national team was a minor sevens side that represented the Gulf Cooperation Council member states. The team first played in 1990, competing at the Hong Kong Sevens tournament that year before travelling to the qualifying event for the Rugby World Cup Sevens held in Sicily. Over the next two decades the Arabian Gulf was a regular participant at the Hong Hong Sevens and in their home event, the Dubai Sevens. The Arabian Gulf team was dissolved at the end of 2010 to be replaced by single-country national teams. 2010 South Africa Sevens
The South Africa Sevens was played annually as part of the IRB Sevens World Series for international rugby sevens (seven-a-side version of rugby union). The 2010 competition was held on 10 December and 11 December at Outeniqua Park in George, Western Cape. It was the second of eight events in the 2010–11 IRB Sevens World Series. This was the 12th edition of the South Africa Sevens, and also the ninth and last to be held in George. In April 2011, the South African Rugby Union announced that future editions of the tournament would be held at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth. The 2010 Edinburgh Sevens (also known as Scotland Sevens) was a rugby sevens tournament, the eighth and final Cup tournament in the 2009–10 IRB Sevens World Series. The 2010 competition was held at Murrayfield Stadium between 29 May and 30 May. Format The tournament, as in all 16-team IRB Sevens events, consisted of four round-robin pools of four teams. Arabian Gulf Rugby Union Team
The Arabian Gulf rugby union team was a combined team of players that represented the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council in international rugby union competitions. The team competed in international matches between 1993 and 2010, and was governed by the Arabian Gulf Rugby Football Union (AGRFU). Associate members were Egypt, Lebanon and Jordan. The Arabian Gulf participated in the highest tier of the inaugural 2008 Asian Five Nations alongside Korea, Japan, Hong Kong and Kazakhstan. 2011 Dubai Sevens
The 2011 Dubai Sevens was the 11th edition of the tournament and was part of the 2011–12 IRB Sevens World Series. It was held at Dubai, United Arab Emirates, the host stadium was The Sevens stadium. It was the official debut for the United Arab Emirates national team, the first of several national teams to have been created after the disbanding of the tournament's former host union, the Arabian Gulf Rugby Football Union. 2010–11 IRB Sevens World Series
The 2010–11 IRB Sevens World Series was the 12th annual IRB Sevens World Series of rugby union sevens tournaments for full national sides run by the International Rugby Board since 1999–2000. Sevens is traditionally played in a two-day tournament format. However, the most famous event, the Hong Kong Sevens, was played over three days, largely because it involved 24 teams instead of the normal 16.
