2009–10 TFF First League
The 2009–10 TFF First League (also known as ''Bank Asya First League'' due to sponsoring reasons) is the 47th season of the second-level football league of Turkey since its establishment in 1963–64. Teams 2008–09 TFF First League champions Manisaspor, runners-up Diyarbakırspor and play-off winners Kasımpaşa were promoted to the 2009–10 Süper Lig. They were replaced by Konyaspor, Kocaelispor and Hacettepe, who ended the 2008–09 season in the bottom three places of the standings. Sakaryaspor, Güngören Belediyespor and Malatyaspor were relegated to the Second League after finishing in the last three spots of the 2008–09 First League season standings. They were replaced by Second League teams Bucaspor, Mersin İdmanyurdu and Çanakkale Dardanelspor. Bank Asya
Bank Asya was established in October 24, 1996 with its head office in Istanbul, as the sixth private finance house of Turkey. The company's name, which had been previously "Asya Finans Kurumu Anonim Şirketi" (Asya Finance Incorporated Company), was changed into "Asya Katilim Bankasi Anonim Şirketi" (Asya Participation Bank Inc.) on December 20, 2005. Bank Asya, with an initial capital of TRY2 million and paid up capital of TRY900 million, had a multi-partnered structure based on domestic capital. Mersin Idman Yurdu
Mersin (), also known as İçel, is a large city and a port on the Mediterranean coast of southern Turkey. It is the provincial capital of Mersin (İçel) Province. It is made up of four municipalities and district governorates: Akdeniz, Mezitli, Toroslar and Yenişehir. TFF Second League
TFF 2. Lig (Turkish Football Federation Second League), is the third level in the Turkish football league system. It was founded in the 2001–02 season with the name of ''Turkish Second League Category B'' as a continuation of the then second level division. In the 2005–06 season the name of the league was changed to ''Lig B''. Since the 2007–08 season the league's current name is used along with sponsor names. Malatyaspor
Malatya Spor Kulübü is a Turkish sports club based in Malatya, mainly concentrated on football. Previously their colors were yellow and black (prior to 1984). They played in First League for 11 seasons. They are the first team located in Eastern Anatolia which qualified for a European cup, 2003–04 UEFA Cup. Güngören Belediyespor
Güngören is an industrial and working class residential district of Istanbul, Turkey. It is located near the district of Bakırköy on the Çatalca Peninsula in the western half of Istanbul Province. It is the smallest district of Turkey in terms of land area with an area of 7 square kilometers. Güngören, which became a district on June 3, 1992, is adjacent to Zeytinburnu to the east, Esenler, Bakırköy in the south, and Bahçelievler to the west. Sakaryaspor
Sakaryaspor Kulübü Derneği is a Turkish professional football club, formed in 1965 after the merger of ''Adapazarı Gençlerbirliği'', ''Adapazarı İdman Yurdu'', ''Güneşspor'' and ''Ada Gençlik''. The club is better known as Sakaryaspor. The football club is nicknamed the "Football Factory" by Turkish football scene because of the many national footballers born and raised in the city. 2008–09 Süper Lig
The 2008–09 Süper Lig (also known as ''Turkcell Super League'' due to sponsoring reasons) was the fifty-first season since its establishment. It began on 22 August 2008 and ended on 31 May 2009. Galatasaray were the defending champions. Beşiktaş clinched the championship after winning at Denizlispor on the last matchday. The latter barely avoided relegation after finishing in a three-way tie on points with Gençlerbirliği and Konyaspor. Head-to-head comparison between those three teams eventually resulted in the demotion of Konyaspor, who joined Kocaelispor and Hacettepe on their way to the second-level First League. Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray had to settle for fourth and fifth place, respectively, after Sivasspor came in as runners-up and Trabzonspor finished third. Konyaspor Kulübü (, Konya Sports Club) is a Turkish professional football club based in Konya. They are better known as Konyaspor. 2009–10 Süper Lig
The 2009–10 Süper Lig (known as the ''Turkcell Süper Lig'' for sponsorship reasons) was the 52nd season since its establishment. The season commenced on 7 August 2009 with Istanbul B.B. hosting defending champions Beşiktaş at Atatürk Olympic Stadium. The last matches were played on 16 May 2010. Bursaspor won the league beating defending champions Beşiktaş 2–1 at home. They beat second placed Fenerbahçe by just one point after they could only manage a 1–1 home draw against Trabzonspor. It was only the seventh time a club outside the ''Istanbul Big Three'' have won the league, with Trabzonspor being the only other team with six championships, winning their last title in 1984.
