Sakaryaspor
Sakaryaspor Kulübü Derneği is a Turkish professional football club, formed in 1965 after the merger of ''Adapazarı Gençlerbirliği'', ''Adapazarı İdman Yurdu'', ''Güneşspor'' and ''Ada Gençlik''. The club is better known as Sakaryaspor. The football club is nicknamed the "Football Factory" by Turkish football scene because of the many national footballers born and raised in the city. Sakarya Province has also five national top scorers (Hakan Şükür, Aykut Kocaman, Bülent Uygun, Aykut Yiğit, Ogün Altıparmak) of all time and three of them did carry the Sakaryaspor shirt. Sakaryaspor became TFF First League champions in 1980–81 and 1986–87. They accomplished this feat again at the end of the 2005–06 season. Sakaryaspor subsequently won a place in the play–off matches. Serkan Özbalta
Serkan Özbalta (born 5 February 1979) is a Turkish football manager and former player. He is the manager of Sakaryaspor. Career A youth product of Gençlerbirliği, Özbalta began his senior career with Erzincanspor in 1998, and transferred to Altay in 1999. He went on loan to Mersin İY, Keskinspor, and Seyhan Belediyespor to start his career. He spent the rest of his career in various pro and semi-pro teams in the second and third divisions of Turkey. After retiring as a player, Özbalta began managing with Ankara Keçiörengücü in the TFF Second League, and in his debut season got them promoted to the TFF First League without losing a match at home. He moved to Manisa in the Second League in 2020, and again promoted the team to the TFF First League with an undefeated title and goal records. TFF Second League
TFF 2. Lig (Turkish Football Federation Second League), is the third level in the Turkish football league system. It was founded in the 2001–02 season with the name of ''Turkish Second League Category B'' as a continuation of the then second level division. Aykut Yiğit (7 October 1959 – 7 September 2002) was a Turkish professional football player who played as a striker, and a football manager until his death. Aykut was top scorer during the 1983–84 1.Lig season with Sakaryaspor, the team he is best known for. He played for various Turkish teams before moving on to a management career. TFF First League
The TFF 1. Lig, officially known as Spor Toto 1. Lig for sponsorship reasons, is the second level of the Turkish football league system. The league was founded in 2001 as the ''Turkish Second League Category A'' after the reorganization of the Second Football League, which was the second level of the Turkish league system between 1963 and 2001. The league was called ''Türk Telekom Lig A'' in the 2006–2007 season, and was renamed to ''TFF First League'' prior to the 2007–08 season. As of 16 January 2008 the league was renamed as Bank Asya 1. Hakan Şükür
Hakan Şükür (; born 1 September 1971) is a Turkish former professional footballer who played as a striker. Nicknamed the "Bull of the Bosphorus" and ''Kral'' (king), he spent the majority of his professional career with Galatasaray, being a three-time ''Gol Kralı'' (Goal King, title and award given to the annual top goalscorer of the Süper Lig), representing the club in three different spells and winning a total of 14 major titles. Aykut Kocaman
Aykut Kocaman (, born 5 April 1965) is a former Turkish footballer, who played as a striker. He is the former manager of İstanbul Başakşehir. Before he made his debut 1980 with the amateur club Kabataş Altınmızrak in Istanbul, Kocaman performed gymnastics at the club Eczacıbaşı, winning 40 medals and reaching second place at the national level. 1984, he moved to Sakaryaspor in Adapazarı, Sakarya and turned professional. Engin İpekoğlu (born 7 June 1961 in İzmir, Turkey) is a Turkish football manager and former goalkeeper who most recently served as manager of Adanaspor. He began his football career with Prater SV, an Austrian team, in 1978.
