2009–10 Czech First League
The 2009–10 Czech First League, known as the Gambrinus liga for sponsorship reasons, was the seventeenth season of the Czech Republic's top-tier football. It started on 24 July 2009 and ended on 15 May 2010. Defending champions Slavia Prague could only finish seventh in the league, 21 points behind eventual winners AC Sparta Prague, Sparta Prague. Team changes from last season FK Viktoria Žižkov and FC Tescoma Zlín were relegated to the Czech 2. Liga, second division after finishing last and second to last, respectively, in the 2008–09 Czech First League. Bohemians 1905 were promoted from the second division as champions. Second division runners-up FC Zenit Čáslav decided not to enter the Czech First League and sold the rights to 1. FC Slovácko, who were promoted in their place. Czech First League
The Czech First League, known as the Fortuna liga for sponsorship reasons, is a Czech professional league for football clubs. At the top of the Czech football league system, it is the country's primary football competition. Seasons typically run from August to May, most games are played on Saturdays and Sundays with few games played on Fridays. All Fortuna liga clubs qualify for the Czech Cup. The history of the Czech football league began with its reorganization for the 1993–94 season following the dissolution of Czechoslovakia and therefore the league became the successor of the Czechoslovak League. Thirty-five clubs have competed in the Fortuna liga since its founding. Sparta Prague has won the title 12 times, the most among Czech clubs. The 2010–11 Czech First League, known as the Gambrinus liga for sponsorship reasons, was the 18th season of the Czech Republic's top-tier football league. It began on 16 July 2010 and finished on 28 May 2011. Sparta Prague were the defending champions, having won their 11th Czech Republic championship the previous season. Teams FK Bohemians and SK Kladno were relegated to the 2010–11 Czech 2. Liga after finishing last and second to last, respectively, in the 2009–10 season; Bohemians were denied a license to play professional football the following season and were thus further demoted to the Bohemian Football League (third division) in June 2010. Bazaly
The Bazaly stadium is a football stadium in Ostrava, Czech Republic. It lays in Slezská Ostrava, the Silesian part of the city, next to the Ostravice River. The first match was played there on 19 April 1959, it functioned as the home stadium of FC Baník Ostrava until the end of the 2014–15 Czech First League season. The stadium was reconstructed in 2003 (added new seats, new V.I.P. rooms, cloak-rooms and press center). The cost was about 30 mil. CZK, cca. 1mil. EUR), and the pitch was replaced in 2004. In June 2014 a new capacity of 10,039 was announced for the forthcoming season. The stadium was closed in 2015, and Baník Ostrava went on to play at Městský stadion instead. FK Mladá Boleslav is a Czech football club based in the city of Mladá Boleslav . The club currently plays in the Czech First League. SK Dynamo České Budějovice is a association football, football club from České Budějovice, Czech Republic. They currently play in the Czech First League, the first tier of football in the Czech Republic. FC Zbrojovka Brno is a professional football club based in the city of Brno, South Moravia, Czech Republic and named after Zbrojovka Brno, a firearms manufacturer. FK Viktoria Žižkov
FK Viktoria Žižkov is one of the oldest football clubs in the Czech Republic, from Žižkov (since 1922 part of Prague). It plays in the Bohemian Football League, the third tier of football in the country. The club won the Czechoslovak First League title in the 1927–28 season. It has also won two editions of the Czech Cup. History Early years The team was founded by students in 1903 in the town of Žižkov (since 1922 part of Prague).
