2009 World Women's Handball Championship Squads
The following is a list of squads for each nation competing at the 2009 World Women's Handball Championship in the People's Republic of China. The tournament began 5 December, and its final was held in Nanjing on 20 December. Each nation had to submit an initial squad of 28 players, 12 of them became reserves when the final squad of 16 players was announced on 5 December. Aalborg Damehåndbold is a former team handball club for women from Aalborg, Denmark. History Aalborg DH was promoted to the top league in Denmark in 2002–2003. Randers HK
Randers HK was a women's handball club based in Randers, Denmark. They competed in the Bambusa Kvindeligaen and played their home matches in Arena Randers. In November 2022, the club decided to declare itself bankrupt after failing to raise over DKK 5 million. The club was then withdrawn from the league, with immediately effect. History Randers HK was founded in 1996 as a collaborative effort between several smaller clubs from the Randers Municipality to create a handball team that could represent the region at top level. In 2000, they reached the final of the Women's EHF Challenge Cup. The season 2009/2010 was the greatest from the history of the club, Randers HK finishing runner-up in the domestic championship GuldBageren Ligaen and winning the Women's EHF Cup. SK Århus
SK Aarhus was a Danish women's handball club based in Aarhus. They played in Damehåndboldligaen when the team closed after the 2016-17 season because of financial issues. Aarhus United took over their licence for the league. SK Aarhus has previously also included basketball and volleyball. History SK Aarhus had consistently been at the bottom of Damehåndboldligaen and were relegated to 1. division after the 2004-05 season. They were, however, promoted again after just one season. Later, the club strengthened their roster with the likes of Karin Mortensen and Trine Troelsen and this resulted in a playoff place and fourth place after three matches against FCK Håndbold in the 2008-09 season. Jan Pytlick (born 5 June 1967) is a Danish handball coach, and trains Saudi Arabia national team.
