Aalborg Damehåndbold is a former team handball club for women from Aalborg, Denmark. History Aalborg DH was promoted to the top league in Denmark in 2002–2003. The club finished second in the top league once, and obtained third place in 2005–2006. In the 2005–2006 season the club reached the semi final in the Women's EHF Champions League. Aalborg DH was 3 Sept. 2013 declared bankrupt. Gigantium
The Gigantium (called ''Sparekassen Danmark Arena'' for sponsoring reasons), in Aalborg, Denmark, is a large, rentable faire building, which hosts a large variety of concerts, markets and exhibitions, among other things. It has a capacity of 5,000 people. For concerts, the capacity is 8,500 people. In addition, there is an ice rink/arena for training purposes, a swimming pool and an athletics hall within the sports complex. The main arena building was severely damaged by a fire on 5 July 2017. Tenants The main use of the arena is sport, and it is home to the Danish Handball League club Aalborg HÃ¥ndbold and the elite Ice Hockey team Aalborg Pirates. The ice hockey club AaB Ishockey also play their matches in an ice arena connected to the original Gigantium arena. Heidi Løke
Heidi Løke (born 12 December 1982) is a Norwegian handball player for Larvik HK and the Norwegian national team. Among her achievements as club player are national championships, a silver medal in the EHF Women's Cup Winners' Cup, and winner of the EHF Women's Champions League several times. Career Club career Løke was born in Tønsberg and grew up in Sandefjord where she started to play handball at the age of ten. She played for Runar, Larvik, Gjerpen and Aalborg DH before she again played for Larvik between 2008 and 2011. Kristine Lunde-Borgersen (born 30 March 1980) is a retired Norwegian handballer who played for the Norwegian national team. She is Olympic champion, World Champion and three times European champion. She is the twin sister of fellow handball player Katrine Lunde. On 13 June 2017, she announced her return to playing handball for the 2017–2018 season, to replace Marta Tomac, who is out of play following a severe injury. Katrine Lunde (former Haraldsen; born 30 March 1980) is a Norwegian handball goalkeeper for Vipers Kristiansand and the Norwegian national team. She is the twin sister of fellow handball player Kristine Lunde-Borgersen. Mia Terese Hundvin (born 7 March 1977) is a former Norwegian handball player. Career Hundvin played 73 matches for Norway's national handball team in addition to playing for professional clubs. She was part of national teams that won the European Women's Handball Championship in 1998, the World Women's Handball Championship in 1999, and Olympic bronze in 2000. Hundvin scored the game-winner as Norway beat South Korea, 22-21. She became pregnant by partner Terje Haakonsen in 2003, which interrupted her playing for the Danish team Aalborg DH.
