''Nordjyske Stiftstidende'' is a daily regional newspaper published in Aalborg, Denmark. It is Denmark's second oldest newspaper. History and profile The newspaper was founded in 1767 as ''Nyttige og fornøyelige Jydske Efterretninger''. In 1827, it merged with Aalborg's second newspaper '' Aalborgs Stifts Adresse-Avis''. The paper was known as '' Aalborg Stiftstidende'' until 1999. The publisher of ''Nordjyske Stiftstidende'' is the Nordjyske Medier. The paper is published in broadsheet format. It has no political affiliation and has a liberal stance. The paper was also described as having a right-wing tradition in a 2006 study. ''Nordjyske Stiftstidende'' has its headquarters in Aalborg. Aalborg
Aalborg (, , ) is Denmark's fourth largest town (behind Copenhagen, Aarhus, and Odense) with a population of 119,862 (1 July 2022) in the town proper and an urban population of 143,598 (1 July 2022). As of 1 July 2022, the Municipality of Aalborg had a population of 221,082, making it the third most populous in the country after the municipalities of Copenhagen and Aarhus. Hobro
Hobro () is an old market and railway town in Region Nordjylland on the Jutland peninsula in northern Denmark. It has a population of 12,071 (1 January 2022). The town is situated in a hilly terrain at the head of Mariager Fjord, close to the former Viking fortress of Fyrkat. It is the seat of Mariagerfjord municipality. Politics Hobro was until 1 January 2007 also a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in North Jutland County covering an area of 166 km² and with a total population of 15,318 (2005). Its last mayor was Jørgen Pontoppidan, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. Hobro municipality ceased to exist due to ''Kommunalreformen'' ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). Mass is an intrinsic property of a body. It was traditionally believed to be related to the quantity of matter in a physical body, until the discovery of the atom and particle physics. Brønderslev
Brønderslev is a city in Denmark with a population of 12,549 (1 January 2022). The city is the largest urban area in Brønderslev Municipality and is the municipal seat. It is the fourth largest city of Vendsyssel within the North Jutland Region. History The name of the town is derived from a local Norsemen chief, Brunder. Brønderslev was formerly known as ''Vester Brønderslev'', in contrast to the neighboring ''Øster Brønderslev''. As of 2020, Øster Brønderslev has a population of just 943. Vester Brønderslev was once a small farming village. In 1682, it consisted of just 27 farms and 47 houses. The town was not initially located on any major thoroughfares and saw very little traffic. Skagen
Skagen () is Denmark's northernmost town, on the east coast of the Skagen Odde peninsula in the far north of Jutland, part of Frederikshavn Municipality in Nordjylland, north of Frederikshavn and northeast of Aalborg. The Port of Skagen is Denmark's main fishing port and it also has a thriving tourist industry, attracting 2 million people annually. Fjerritslev
Fjerritslev is a town in North Jutland, Denmark. It is located in Jammerbugt Municipality, 13 km north of Løgstør, 37 km northeast of Thisted and 30 km southwest of Aabybro. Until 1 January 2007 Fjerritslev was the seat of the former Fjerritslev Municipality. History Fjerritslev is mentioned in 1487 under the name Fieridsleff. Until the middle of the 1800s Fjerritslev only consisted of a series of spread-out houses and farms. A tavern was built in Fjerritslev in 1840, which began the expansion of the town. Following the tavern was other establishments, including a post office, bank, school and brewery. With the construction of the train station in 1897, the town began to rapidly expand. Frederikshavn () is a Danish town in Frederikshavn municipality, Region Nordjylland, on the northeast coast of the Jutland peninsula in northern Denmark. Its name translates to "Frederik's harbor". Himmerland
Himmerland is a peninsula in northeastern Jutland, Denmark. It is delimited to the north and the west by the Limfjord, to the east by the Kattegat, and to the south by the Mariager Fjord. The largest city is Aalborg; smaller towns include Hobro, Aars, Løgstør, Støvring and Nibe.
