2009 Inter-Provincial Hurling Championship
The 2009 Interprovincial Hurling Championship, known as the 2009 M Donnelly Hurling Interprovincial Championship due to the tournament's sponsorship by businessman Martin Donnelly, was the 82nd series of the Interprovincial Championship. The annual hurling championship between the four historic provinces of Ireland was contested by Connacht, Leinster, Munster and Ulster. The championship was won by Leinster. Pearse Stadium ( ga, Páirc an Phiarsaigh) is the principal GAA stadium in Galway, Ireland. The Galway GAA Gaelic football and hurling teams use the stadium for their home games. The stadium, amongst others in the province of Connacht, is also used for games in the Connacht Senior Football Championship History Early years The stadium opened on 16 June 1957, as 16,000 people came to watch Galway beat Tipperary in hurling, and Kerry in football, and to watch Bishop Michael Browne bless the facility. Mark Kerins
Mark Kerins (born 1979) is an Irish hurler who played as a centre-forward for the Galway senior team. Born in Clarinbridge, County Galway, Kerins first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of eighteen when he first linked up with the Galway minor team, before later joining the under-21 side. He joined the senior team for the 1999 championship. Kerins went on to play a bit part for Galway at various times for almost a decade, and won one National Hurling League medal. He was an All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion. As a member of the Connacht inter-provincial team at various times, Kerins won two Railway Cup medals. At club level he is a one-time All-Ireland medallist with Clarinbridge. In addition to this he also won one Connacht medal and two championship medals. Keith Raymond
Keith Raymond (born 1987) is an Irish hurler who plays as a centre-back for the Sligo senior team. Born in Sligo, Raymond first played competitive hurling at juvenile and underage levels with the Calry/St. Joseph's club. He later joined the club's senior team and has experienced much success, including four Connacht medals. Raymond has also won eleven county championship medals. Raymond was just fifteen years old when he made his debut with the Sligo senior team during the 2003 league. He subsequently became a regular member of the team and has won one Nicky Rackard Cup medal and two National Hurling League medals in different divisions. Brian Costello (born 1984) is an Irish hurler who plays as a full-back at senior level for the London county team. Costello played inter-county hurling with Galway's minor, under-21, intermediate and senior teams, having captained the intermediate team in 2008 and was a member of the senior panel in 2009. Fergal Moore (born 7 July 1982) is an Irish hurler who played as a right corner-back for the Galway senior team. A brother of former Galway hurler Cathal, Moore made his first appearance for the team during the 2004 National League and became a regular member of the starting fifteen over a few seasons.
