2009 German Figure Skating Championships
The 2009 German Figure Skating Championships (german: Deutsche Meisterschaften im Eiskunstlaufen) took place on December 18–21, 2008 at the Eissportzentrum Oberstdorf in Oberstdorf. Skaters competed in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, ice dancing, and synchronized skating on the senior, junior, and novice levels. 2008–09 Figure Skating Season
The 2008–09 figure skating season began on July 1, 2008, and ended on June 30, 2009. During this season, elite skaters competed on the Championship level at the 2009 European, Four Continents, World Junior, and World Championships. Maylin Wende
Maylin Wende (née Hausch) (born 22 September 1988) is a German pair skater. With husband and partner Daniel Wende, she is the 2010 Trophée Eric Bompard bronze medalist, the 2013 Nebelhorn Trophy silver medalist, and a two-time German national champion. They have competed twice at the Winter Olympics (2010, 2014) and have placed as high as sixth at the European Championships (2011, 2014). Career Early career Maylin Hausch began skating in 1992. She skated in singles until 2006, finishing as high as fourth in Junior Ladies at the 2004 German Junior and Novice National Championships. Hausch took up pair skating at age 17. Her first skating partner was Steffen Hörmann, with whom she was the 2006 German junior national champion. He decided to quit after that competition. Shari Koch
Shari Koch (born 23 September 1993) is a German former competitive ice dancer. With skating partner Christian Nüchtern, she is the 2014 Bavarian Open silver medalist, 2017 Winter Universiade bronze medalist, and 2019 German national champion. Career Koch started learning to skate in 1999. She and Nüchtern made their international debut at the 2008 NRW Trophy. They placed in the top ten at the 2012 and 2013 World Junior Championships and won the German junior national title three times (2011–13). Koch/Nüchtern won their first senior international medal, silver, at the 2014 Bavarian Open. After missing the entire 2014–15 season, they returned to international competition in February 2016 at the Bavarian Open. Julia Pfrengle
Julia Pfrengle (born 10 May 1995) is a German figure skater. She is the 2010 German bronze medalist and 2009 junior national champion. Her win in 2009 was her third consecutive national title, and her first at the junior level. She won the 2007 and 2008 German Novice Championships. Pfrengle represents the Mannheimer ERC. Paul Fentz
Paul Fentz (born 8 September 1992) is a retired German figure skater. He has won four senior international medals and is a four-time German national champion (2018–20, 2022). He has competed in the final segment at eight ISU Championships. Career Fentz began appearing on the ISU Junior Grand Prix series in the 2008–09 season. His senior international debut came at the 2011 Triglav Trophy. In the 2011–12 season, he won the silver medal at the 2012 German Championships and was included in Germany's team to the 2012 European Championships in Sheffield, England. Tanja Kolbe (born 7 September 1990) is a German former competitive ice dancer. With Stefano Caruso, she won seven international medals and two German national silver medals.
