The 2008 Skyrunner World Series was the 7th edition of the global skyrunning competition, Skyrunner World Series, organised by the International Skyrunning Federation from 2002. From this year and up to 2011 (4 editions) was introduced Skyrunner World Series Trials. Kílian Jornet Burgada
Kílian Jornet (; born 27 October 1987) is a Spanish professional sky runner, trail runner, ski mountaineer and long-distance runner. He is a six-time champion of the long-distance running Skyrunner World Series and has won some of the most prestigious ultramarathons, including the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc, Grand Raid, the Western States Endurance Run and the Hardrock Hundred Mile Endurance Run. Jornet holds the fastest known time speed record for the ascent and descent of major mountains including the Matterhorn and Mont Blanc. He also previously held speed records for Aconcagua, Denali, and Kilimanjaro, all of which were eventually broken by Karl Egloff. Maratón Alpino Madrileño
The Maratón Alpino Madrileño or Madrid Alpine Marathon is a trail running race that takes place on Sierra de Guadarrama, in Madrid (Spain), in mid-June. This race covers nearly with of altitude change. Since 2006, the start and the end points of the race are located in Cercedilla, and its course goes through Alto del Telégrafo, Puerto de Navacerrada, Bola del Mundo (also known as Alto de las Guarramillas), Puerto de Cotos, Pico Peñalara (the highest point of Madrid) and the glacial Peñalara lakes. Tomás Orlando Pérez Garcia (born December 29, 1973) is a Venezuelan former professional baseball infielder and current batting practice pitcher for the Atlanta Braves of Major League Baseball (MLB). SkyRace Mexiquense
Skyrunning is a sport of mountain running up to or exceeding where the minimum average incline is 6% over the total distance and at least 5% has an incline of 30% or more. The climbing difficulty does not exceed II grade UIAA. Poles, crampons and hands may be used to aid progress. The governing body is the International Skyrunning Federation. The ZacUP Skyrace del Grignone (also known as Sentiero delle Grigne), is an international skyrunning competition held for the first time in 2013. It runs every year along the mountain path of the Grigna (Italy) in September.
