2008 Meistriliiga
The 2008 season of Meistriliiga, the first level in the Estonian football system, was the 18th season in the league's history. It began on 8 March 2008 and ended on 15 November 2008. The defending champions were Levadia. Promotion and relegation 10th placed Ajax were directly relegated after the end of the previous season. Since reserve squads are not allowed to be promoted to Meistriliiga, third placed Esiliiga team Sillamäe Kalev were directly promoted to 2008 Meistriliiga. Kuressaare (9th placed Meistriliiga team) and Kalju (6th placed Esiliiga team) competed in promotion/relegation play-offs for one spot in 2008 Meistriliiga. The aggregate score was 2–2 and Nõmme Kalju were promoted due to scoring more away goals. Meistriliiga
Meistriliiga (, known as the A. Le Coq Premium Liiga for sponsorship reasons) is the highest division of the Estonian Football Association annual football (soccer), football championship. The league was founded in 1992, and was initially semi-professional with amateur clubs allowed to compete. With the help of solidarity mechanisms, the league is fully professional since the 2020 Meistriliiga, 2020 season. As in most countries with low temperatures in winter time, the season starts in March and ends in November. Meistriliiga consists of ten clubs, all teams play each other four times. After each season the bottom team is relegated and the second last team plays a two-legged play-off for a place in the Meistriliiga. In February 2013, A. Le Coq, an Estonian brewery company, signed a five-year cooperation agreement with the Estonian Football Association, which included Meistriliiga naming rights. JK Sillamäe Kalev
JK Sillamäe Kalev, commonly known as Sillamäe Kalev, or simply as Sillamäe, is a football club, based in Sillamäe, Estonia. Founded in 1957, Sillamäe Kalev was one of the founding members of the Meistriliiga. The club competed in the Meistriliiga, the top flight of Estonian football in 2017, but was declared bankrupt in March 2018. Its football academy continued and took over the name, continuing in the II liiga, 4th level in the Estonian football league system. History Sillamäe Kalev was founded in 1957 and competed in the Estonian SSR Football Championship. In 1992, the club became one of the founding members of the Meistriliiga. Tamme Stadium
Tamme Stadium ( et, Tamme staadion) is a multi-purpose stadium in Tartu, Estonia, located in the district of Tammelinn. First opened in 1932 and reaching its current look in 2011, the stadium is home to Tartu Tammeka and holds 1,638 people. Kadriorg Stadium
The Kadriorg Stadium ( et, Kadrioru staadion) is a multi-purpose stadium in Tallinn, Estonia. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of Tallinna JK Legion and JK Tallinna Kalev . The stadium holds 5,000 and was opened in 1926. Getúlio Fredo
Getúlio Aurelio Fredo (born 22 September 1954) is a Brazilian-born football manager. Coaching career Fredo's most recent position was as the head coach of the Estonian football club Nõmme Kalju. He led the club to their first ever participation in a European competition when they lost against FC Dinaburg in the first qualifying round of the 2009–10 UEFA Europa League. Fredo's career in coaching has been a lengthy one. He worked with the group of coaches who led the Brazilian U-17 to their World Cup victory some years ago. Hiiu Stadium ( et, Hiiu staadion) is a multi-purpose stadium in Tallinn, Estonia. The stadium and the administration building are owned by Nõmme district and are operated by Nõmme Sport Centre (''Nõmme spordikeskus''). Pasi Rautiainen
Pasi Pentti Rautiainen (born 18 July 1961) is Finnish football manager and former player. He has coached PK-35, FC Jokerit and FC KooTeePee in Finland and FC Levadia Tallinn and FC Flora Tallinn in Estonia. His last club was TPS. Rautiainen was very talented as a young player, and he joined Bayern Munich at the age of just 18 in 1980. He only made one appearance for the club, but was still named German champion with Bayern in the 1980–81 season.
