The Norwegian Golf Tour was a developmental professional golf tour based in Norway. In the past, similar to the Danish Golf Tour and the Swedish Golf Tour, most events on the Norwegian Golf Tour schedules were incorporated into the Nordic Golf League, one of the four third-tier tours recognized by the European Tour. History The tour was founded in 2004 by the Norwegian Golf Federation and the PGA of Norway. The tour aimed to offer a series of tournaments for elite-level golfers in Norway (both amateur and professional). Danish Golf Tour
The Danish Golf Tour, currently titled as the ECCO Tour for sponsorship reasons, is a developmental professional golf tour based in Denmark. Similar to the Swedish Golf Tour, most events on the Danish Golf Tour schedule are incorporated into the Nordic Golf League, one of the four third-tier tours recognized by the European Tour. History The tour was founded in 2002 as a joint venture by Dan Stage and the PGA of Denmark. The aim of the tour being to provide a new generation of golfers with optimal conditions for developing their game. The inaugural season was in 2003 where the tour hosted ten tournaments, culminating in a total prize fund of . The tour originally signed a three-year agreement in 2002 with Danish-based shoe manufacturer ECCO who would be the inaugural title sponsor of the tour for the first three seasons. The 2007 Challenge Tour was the 19th season of the Challenge Tour, the official development tour to the European Tour. The tour started as the Satellite Tour with its first Order of Merit rankings in 1989 and was officially renamed as the Challenge Tour at the start of the 1990 season. Henrik Bjørnstad
Henrik Bjørnstad (born 7 May 1979) is a Norwegian professional golfer. Bjørnstad was born in Oslo, Norway. He turned professional in 1997. Bjørnstad became the first Norwegian on the PGA Tour when he qualified with a tied 13th-place finish at the 2005 PGA Tour Qualifying Tournament. He previously played on the European Tour in 1999 and from 2001 to 2004. The first season on the PGA Tour resulted in 1 top 10 finish and 17 cuts made in 31 starts. Resulting in ranking at 152nd place on the PGA Tour Money list. In 2007 to 2009 Bjørnstad played on the U.S.-based Nationwide Tour. In 2009, Bjørnstad secured his playing rights on the PGA Tour for the second time by finishing within the top 25 on the money list. His final position was 18th. However, having again finished outside the top-150 on the PGA Tour money list, he was reported at the end of 2010 as saying he was quitting professional golf. Knut Børsheim
Knut Børsheim (born 29 April 1987) is a Norwegian professional golfer. Amateur career Børsheim was one of the top amateurs in Norway, winning the golf medal at the national boys' championships, and winning a professional event in Scandinavia in 2006 while still an amateur. In the autumn of 2006, he opted to take a golf scholarship to Arizona State University for the next four years. He was awarded the Pac-10 Men's Golf Scholar Athlete of the Year for 2009-10. While at college, Børsheim represented Norway at the European Amateur Team Championship four years in a row 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010. He was named for the 2010 European Bonallack Trophy team against an Asia and Pacific team, but the event was cancelled. He turned professional upon college graduation in 2010. Eirik Tage Johansen (born 23 May 1982) is a Norwegian professional golfer. Johansen was born in the United States, and returned to the country of his birth as a successful amateur golfer, taking up a golf scholarship at the University of South Carolina, where he was a member of the golf team. After graduating in 2006, he turned professional, and immediately won a place on the European Tour after advancing through qualifying school. After a disappointing first season, he dropped down to the second-tier Challenge Tour for 2008, but was once again successful at qualifying school at the end of that season. Johansen has retained his place on the European Tour from 2009 to 2011, although he had to return to qualifying school every year. The 2006 Challenge Tour was the 18th season of the Challenge Tour, the official development tour to the European Tour. The tour started as the Satellite Tour with its first Order of Merit rankings in 1989 and was officially renamed as the Challenge Tour at the start of the 1990 season. Kalle Brink
Karl Henrik Brink (born 12 August 1975) is a Swedish professional golfer who has played on the European Tour and the Challenge Tour. Brink was born in Helsingborg, Sweden. His sister, Maria, is also a professional golfer, who has competed on the Ladies European Tour. In 1993, Brink was member of the Swedish team winning the European Boys' Team Championship in Ascona, Switzerland. He also represented Sweden at the 1994 Espirito Santo Trophy at Le Golf National, outside Paris, France, earning a bronze medal with his team. Brink turned professional in 1994. He has three wins on Europe's second tier Challenge Tour, the first coming in 1997 at the BTC Slovenian Open, when he went on to finish the season in second place on the 1997 Challenge Tour money list.
