2006 Challenge Tour
The 2006 Challenge Tour was the 18th season of the Challenge Tour, the official development tour to the European Tour. The tour started as the Satellite Tour with its first Order of Merit rankings in 1989 and was officially renamed as the Challenge Tour at the start of the 1990 season. The Challenge Tour Rankings were won by Wales' Mark Pilkington. Frenchman Adrien Mörk shot the first 59 in the history of the PGA European Tour's three tours at the Tikida Hotels Agadir Moroccan Classic. Johan Axgren
Bengt Johan Axgren (born 5 March 1975) is a Sweden, Swedish professional golfer. Axgren was born in Gothenburg. He turned professional in 1995. Axgren has won four times on the Challenge Tour, the first in 1996, and then once in 2004 and twice more in 2006 Challenge Tour, 2006, when he finished second on the end of season money list, to graduate to the PGA European Tour, European Tour for the 2007 season. He did not win sufficient money during that season to retain his tour card, and returned to the Challenge Tour the following season. The Argentine Open or Abierto de la República or Abierto de Argentina is one of the oldest national golf open championships. Álvaro Salto
Álvaro Salto Johansson (born 11 January 1974) is a Spanish professional golfer who plays on the Challenge Tour. Salto represented Spain in the Eisenhower Trophy in 1996 with Sergio García, José Manuel Lara and Ivo Giner. He turned professional the following year. Salto joined the Challenge Tour in 1998 and won the Eulen Open Galea in his rookie season. He picked up his second win on Tour in 2000 at the Credit Suisse Private Banking Open. In 2001 he went through qualifying school to earn his European Tour card for 2002. He struggled in his rookie season but earned his Tour card for 2003 through qualifying school. Anthony Snobeck
Anthony Snobeck (born 20 April 1983) is a French professional golfer, who has played on both the European and Challenge Tours. Biography Snobeck was born in Paris; his father Dany was a successful racing driver who won the French Supertouring Championship three times and the Andros Trophy twice, and the family lived adjacent to Magny-Cours, where he owned a car company. Snobeck began playing golf in 1995, and by the age of seventeen was a three-handicap. He began being coached by Antoine Lebouc, former European Tour player and husband of Patricia Meunier-Lebouc, in 2002, and under his guidance turned professional in 2005. The Open di Puglia e Basilicata is an annual professional golf tournament held in Riva dei Tessali, near Castellaneta, Italy. David Drysdale
David Stuart Drysdale (born 19 March 1975) is a Scottish professional golfer. Career Drysdale was born in Edinburgh. He turned professional in 1995. He married his childhood sweetheart Victoria in 2004. Drysdale currently competes on the European Tour, having graduated through qualifying school for the fourth time at the end of 2008. The Kenya Open, titled as the Magical Kenya Open for sponsorship reasons, is a professional golf tournament in Kenya founded in 1967. History The Kenya Open was an associate event on the Far East Circuit in 1967 and 1968, after which it became a cornerstone of the emerging Safari Circuit – a collection of tournaments initially in Kenya and Zambia, and then later in Nigeria, Ivory Coast and Zimbabwe. The European Tour, who had taken over running of the Safari Tour in the late 1970s, began to expand globally through the 1980s and those events formally became part of the second tier Challenge Tour in 1991. Kyron Sullivan
Kyron Sullivan (born 22 June 1976) is a Welsh professional golfer. Sullivan attended the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff and briefly worked as an IT analyst before deciding to attempt professional golf in 2002. He spent two years playing on the PGA EuroPro Tour and a further three on the Challenge Tour, where he won for the first time in 2006. This helped him to fifth place in the rankings, earning him a place on the European Tour for 2007. Sullivan ended his debut year 131st in the Order of Merit, just outside the players who automatically retained their cards, but he still gained entry to several events in 2008. Kai Fieberg Costa Rica Open
The Costa Rica Open is a men's professional golf tournament that was played annually in Costa Rica until 2007. It was an event on the Tour de las Americas from 2002 until its replacement by the Costa Rica Golf Classic in 2008, and was also co-sanctioned by the European Challenge Tour from 2003. The tournament was held at the Cariari Country Club near San José every year except in 2004 when it was played over the Valle del Sol Golf Course near Santa Ana. The 2006 event was renamed in order to pay tribute to the tournaments founder and promoter, Kai Fieberg, who had been killed in a car accident earlier in the year.
