2007 EuroHockey Nations Championship
The 2007 Men's EuroHockey Nations Championship was the 11th edition of the Men's EuroHockey Nations Championship, the biennial international men's field hockey championship of Europe organized by the European Hockey Federation. It was held in Manchester, England from 19 to 26 August 2007. The Netherlands won its third title by defeating the defending champions Spain 3–2 in the final. Belgium won its first-ever medal by defeating Germany 4–3. The top three teams qualified directly for the 2008 Summer Olympics. The other teams qualified for the qualification tournaments for the Summer Olympics. Manchester () is a city in Greater Manchester, England. It had a population of 552,000 in 2021. Richard Mantell
Richard Mantell (born 17 August 1981) is an English field hockey defender. He is the older brother of Simon Mantell. Mantell made his international debut on 10 February 2003. He was a member of the England squad that competed at the 2006 and 2010 Hockey World Cup. He was also part of the winning squad at the 2009 EuroHockey Championship and came third in 2011, and also competed in the Champions Trophy in 2007, 2009 and 2011. Charles Vandeweghe (born 14 October 1982 in Ghent, East Flanders) is a field hockey forward from Belgium, who was a member of the Men's National Team that missed qualification for the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. Belgium finished in 8th place at the Olympic Qualifier Tournament in Madrid, in March 2004, after losing on penalty strokes against South Africa. John-John Dohmen
John-John Dominique Dohmen (born 24 January 1988) is a Belgian professional field hockey player who plays for Orée and the Belgium national team as a midfielder. Biography John-John Dohmen was born in Anderlecht in 1988, and spent his youth in Ittre. He has graduated in ergotherapy. In 2014, he was a candidate for the Centre démocrate humaniste in the Belgian regional elections in Walloon Brabant. Dohmen started playing hockey when he was five years old, and debuted at Royal Léopold Club in Uccle. He was a player for the Waterloo Ducks until 2020, and since 2013, the captain of the Belgian national team (the "Red Lions"). Barry Middleton
Barry John Middleton (born 12 January 1984) is regarded as one of the greatest British field hockey players in history. He played as a midfielder and forward for England and Great Britain and is the most capped British hockey player in history and captained his country for many years. Middleton was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2020 New Year Honours for services to hockey.
