2007 BMW Open
The 2007 BMW Open was a men's tennis tournament that was part of the 2007 ATP Tour. It was the 92nd edition of the event and was played on outdoor clay courts in Munich, Germany between 30 April and 6 May 2007. The tournament was won by Philipp Kohlschreiber in men's singles and Philipp Kohlschreiber and Mikhail Youzhny in men's doubles. ATP International Series
The ATP International Series (known from 1990 to 1997 as the ATP World Series) was a series of professional tennis tournaments held internationally as part of the ATP Tour from 2000 to 2008. The series was renamed ATP Tour 250 in 2009. International Series offered players cash prizes (tournaments have purses from $416,000 to $1,000,000) and the ability to earn ATP ranking points. They generally offered less prize money and fewer points than the ATP International Series Gold, but more than tournaments on the ATP Challenger Series. Clay Court
A clay court is one of the types of tennis court on which the sport of tennis, originally known as "lawn tennis", is played. Clay courts are made of crushed stone, brick, shale, or other unbound mineral aggregate depending on the tournament. The French Open uses clay courts, the only Grand Slam tournament to do so. Clay courts are more common in Continental Europe and Latin America than in North America, Asia-Pacific or Britain. Two main types exist: red clay, the more common variety, and green clay, also known as "rubico", which is a harder surface. Although less expensive to construct than other types of tennis courts, the maintenance costs of clay are high as the surface must be rolled to preserve flatness. Philipp Eberhard Hermann Kohlschreiber (; born 16 October 1983) is a German former professional tennis player. The right-hander won eight singles and seven doubles titles on the ATP World Tour and made the quarterfinals at the 2012 Wimbledon Championships. He reached his highest ATP singles ranking of world No. 16 in July 2012. Personal life Kohlschreiber married his long-term girlfriend Lena Alberti on 1 August 2018 in Kitzbühel, Austria. The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) is the governing body of the men's professional tennis circuits – the ATP Tour, the ATP Challenger Tour and the ATP Champions Tour. It was formed in September 1972 by Donald Dell, Jack Kramer, and Cliff Drysdale to protect the interests of professional tennis players, and Drysdale became the first President. Mikhail Mikhailovich Youzhny (born 25 June 1982), nicknamed "Misha" and "Colonel" by his fans, is a Russian retired professional tennis player who was ranked inside the top 10 and was the Russian No. 1. He achieved a top-10 ranking by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) for the first time on 13 August 2007, and reached a career peak of World No. 8 in January 2008, and again in October 2010.Youzhny reached the quarterfinals of all grand slams; going beyond the quarterfinals at the US Open in 2006 and 2010. Tennis is a racket sport that is played either individually against a single opponent ( singles) or between two teams of two players each ( doubles). Each player uses a tennis racket that is strung with cord to strike a hollow rubber ball covered with felt over or around a net and into the opponent's court. The 2007 ATP Tour was the global elite men's professional tennis circuit organised by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) for the 2007 tennis season. The ATP Tour is the elite tour for professional tennis organized by the Association of Tennis Professionals. Bavarian International Tennis Championships
The Bavarian International Tennis Championships (german: Internationale Tennis-Meisterschaften von Bayern, known since 1990 by its sponsored name BMW Open) is a men's tennis tournament held at the MTTC Iphitos in Munich, Germany. Held since 1900, the tournament is played on outdoor clay courts and is a part of the ATP Tour schedule. History In 1900, the first edition of the tournament was held by the tennis club ''Münchner Tennis- und Turnierclub (MTTC) Iphitos'', which was the first tennis club in Munich having been formed in 1892 by students. The club only had grass courts, and the first edition was therefore played on grass. The Center Court of the MTTC has been in Aumeisterweg since 1930, and holds 5,600 people. Jan Hájek (tennis)
Jan Hájek (born 7 August 1983) is a retired male professional tennis player from the Czech Republic. He reached the third round of the 2007 French Open and attained a career-high ATP singles ranking of World No. 71 in November 2006. Career Hájek turned professional in 2000 and won his first Futures event in Negril of the same year defeating Johan Örtegren in the final. Between 2000 and 2003 Hájek played primarily on the Futures circuit, then after that he played some Challenger events as well as the Futures tournaments. At the end of 2005 he had won 8 Futures titles all on clay, which is his best surface. 2006 was the breakthrough season for Hájek, as he started the year ranked at 352 and then finished the season ranked at 76th in the world. Jaroslav Levinský (born 11 February 1981) is a professional doubles tennis player from the Czech Republic. Levinsky reached a career-high singles ranking of World No. 239, achieved on 23 September 2002. He also reached a career-high doubles ranking of World No. 24, achieved on 16 July 2007. Levinsky's debut on the ATP Tour came in doubles, at the 2001 Croatia Open.
