2005 Voyageurs Cup
The 2005 Voyageurs Cup was the fourth Voyageurs Cup tournament which was started by the Canadian supporters group The Voyageurs. The 2005 Edition of the tournament featured Montreal Impact (1992–2011), Montreal Impact, Toronto Lynx and Vancouver Whitecaps (1986–2010), Vancouver Whitecaps. Professional soccer teams in Edmonton and Calgary ceased being operated by the league and folded at the end of the 2004 season respectively. The 2005 Voyageurs Cup was won by Montreal Impact who captured the competition in a dominant fashion going undefeated and clinching the competition on August 31, 2005 in their third of four matches. Montreal Impact not only dominated their Canadian rivals but also the league winning ten points clear of the nearest opposition although the 2005 USL First Division was not a balanced home and away competition where each team played the others an equal number of times. Montreal Impact (1992–2011)
The Montreal Impact (french: Impact de Montréal) was a Canadian professional association football, soccer club based in Montreal, Quebec. Founded in 1993, the team played in the United Soccer League. Later, the Impact played in the North American Soccer League (2011), North American Soccer League (NASL), the second tier of the American Soccer Pyramid until the 2011 season. The owner Joey Saputo now operates the Major League Soccer, MLS team CF Montréal, which also carried the Montreal Impact name until 2021. The team played its home games at Complexe Sportif Claude-Robillard until 2008 when it moved to the new Saputo Stadium where it played until its move to MLS. The team's colours were blue and white. Centennial Park Stadium
Centennial Park Stadium is a 2,200 seat capacity stadium in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is primarily used for soccer, track and field, football and occasionally for kabaddi. The park is also used for the ROPSSAA football finals and the PSAA (Private Schools Athletic Association) on the first Monday of May for an annual Track and Field Meet. The stadium is named for the city park it is located in, which opened during Canada's centennial year of 1967; the stadium was opened in 1975, eight years after the centennial. It is located within Centennial Park in the Etobicoke district, just south of Toronto Pearson International Airport and near the intersection of Rathburn Road and Renforth Drive. Joey Gjertsen
Joey Gjertsen (born June 13, 1982) is an American professional soccer player. Career College Gjertsen started his college soccer at Tacoma Community College where he produced 31 goals and a school record 14 assists in his freshman campaign. He then transferred to Yavapai College where he won a NJCAA national championship. Transferring once again, he enjoyed a successful two-year career at The Evergreen State College, earning All-American honors, All-Region Team and Region I Player of the year honors in 2004. He was named as the Conference Player of the Year, as he led the league with 27 goals in 2003. António Ribeiro (soccer)
António Ribeiro (born October 8, 1980) is a Canadian retired soccer player. Club career Montreal Impact Born in Aveiro, Portugal, Ribeiro began his soccer career with the Montreal Impact in 2000, but did not play a major role with the Impact that year. In 2002, he was released by the Impact and signed with Panellinios, with whom he won the Canadian national championship title at the senior amateur level in 2002. In 2004, he returned to the Impact and helped the team to secure the franchise's first double (the League Championship as well the Voyageurs Cup). Joseph Mattacchione (born August 15, 1975) is a Canadian former soccer player who played as a defender. Playing career College career Mattacchione began playing at the youth level with Dixie Soccer Club. He also played at the amateur level in the Toronto and District Soccer League with Mississauga United.
