2003 Spanish Formula Three Championship
The 2003 Spanish Formula Three Championship was the third Spanish Formula Three season. It began on 27 April at Albacete and ended on 9 November at Circuit de Catalunya in Montmeló after thirteen races. Ricardo Mauricio was crowned series champion. Spanish Formula Three
The Euroformula Open Championship (formerly the Spanish Formula Three Championship, European F3 Open Championship) is a junior formula racing series based in Spain. It was one of six national and international Formula Three championships in Europe and Scandinavia that together used to form an important part of the established "career ladder" below Formula One. The championship's first season was held in 2001. In 2006, it was branded as the Spanish F3 Championship by Toyota, in deference to its sole engine supplier. In 2020, the championship ceased to be a F3-championship and will share its specifications with Japan's Super Formula Lights based on the previous-generation Formula Three standards, primarily with a choice of engines. Álvaro Barba
Álvaro Barba López (born 17 February 1984 in Seville) is a Spanish racing driver and brother to fellow racer Marco Barba. Career Formula Junior and Spanish Formula Three Barba began his single seater career in 2002 driving in the Spanish Formula Junior 1600 series, where he finished runner up to fellow countryman Adrián Vallés. In 2003 he moved up to the Spanish Formula Three Championship, the first of three seasons in the category. During his time in the series he accumulated nine podium positions, including three race wins, with his best season coming in 2005 when he finished 5th in the championship. He also raced in that year's Marlboro Masters event at Zandvoort, finishing in 24th place. Sergio Hernández von Rekowski (born 6 December 1983, Xàbia) is a Spanish racing driver, best known for having competed in the World Touring Car Championship. Escuderia TEC-Auto is a racing team from Spain. It was founded in 2003 after the acquisition by Carlos Cosidó and Paul South of the Azteca Motor Sport. In 2004 the team changed its name and appears for the first time with the denomination of TEC Auto. That year the drivers were the Argentinian Ricardo Risatti and the Dutch Ferdinand Kool. María De Villota
María de Villota Comba (13 January 1979 – 11 October 2013) was a Spanish racing driver. She was the daughter of former Formula One driver Emilio de Villota, and sister of Emilio de Villota Jr., who similarly competed in Formula Palmer Audi. Prior to her death, De Villota was recovering from serious head and facial injuries, sustained during an accident in straight-line testing as the Marussia Formula One team test driver. Early career De Villota was born in Madrid. She competed in numerous racing series, including the World Touring Car Championship and ADAC Procar Series. In August 2009, she signed with Atlético Madrid to race for the remainder of the season in the Superleague Formula open wheel racing series.
