The 2002 Swedish Golf Tour, known as the Telia Tour for sponsorship reasons, was the 17th season of the Swedish Golf Tour, a series of professional golf tournaments for women held in Sweden, Denmark and Finland. Anna Becker won two events and Riikka Hakkarainen from Finland won the Order of Merit, the first non-Swedish season champion. Anna Becker is an Israeli researcher known in the field of artificial intelligence and computer science within the financial field. Early life and education Becker was born in Russia and immigrated to Israel at 16 after graduating from a school in Moscow. At 17, she began her studies at Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. The Swedish Match Play Championship is a golf tournament played since 1904, held for both men and women. It is the oldest and most traditional golf tournament in Sweden. The name SM is shortening in Swedish language for "Svenska Mästerskapet" (the Swedish Championship). The Swedish International Stroke Play Championship or Swedish International (SI) was a women's golf tournament played in Sweden from 1962 to 2007. It featured on the Swedish Golf Tour starting from the tour's inception in 1986. Named Svenskt Internationellt Slagtävlingsmästerskap (SISM) until it formally assumed the name Swedish International in 1984, the tournament was amateur only from 1962 to 1983, turning open to any golfer from 1984 with the introduction of the men's Swedish Golf Tour. Officially a Swedish National Championship starting in 1982, a separate National Champion was named in the event of a foreign winner. The tournament was discontinued after the 2007 season. Bokskogen Golf Club (Bokskogens Golfklubb; Bokskogens GK) is a 36-hole golf club located 15 km southeast of Malmö in SkÃ¥ne County, southern Sweden. It has hosted two tournaments on the European Tour. Johanna Monica Elisabeth Westerberg Johansson (born 24 November 1977) is a Swedish professional golfer. Westerberg was born in Linköping, Sweden. She resides in Södertälje, Sweden. Lisa Hed (born 5 July 1973) is a Swedish professional golfer. She played on the Ladies European Tour and was runner-up at the 2000 Ladies Austrian Open. Career Hed turned professional in 1993 and joined the Swedish Golf Tour. In 1997, she came close to securing her maiden professional title, losing a playoff for the Volvo Anläggningsmaskiner Ladies Open. By 1999, she had hit her stride, recording nine top-10 finishes including two wins, and ended the 1999 season top of the Order of Merit. The Danish Ladies Open was a women's professional golf tournament on the Ladies European Tour played between 1988 and 1997, the national open golf championship of Denmark. The tournament also featured on the Swedish Golf Tour in 1988, 1989, and 2002, as well as again from 2022, when it was also an LET Access Series event.
