Parliamentary elections were held in Cyprus on 27 May 2001. The result was a victory for Progressive Party of Working People, AKEL, which won 20 of the 56 seats. The United Democrats ( el, Ενωμένοι Δημοκράτες (ΕΔΗ), ''Enomenoi Dimokrates'' (EDI)) is a liberal political party in Cyprus.
