The 2000 Asian PGA Tour, titled as the 2000 Davidoff Tour for sponsorship reasons, was the sixth season of the Asian PGA Tour, the main professional golf tour in Asia excluding Japan. It was the second season of the tour under a title sponsorship agreement with Davidoff, that was announced in May 1999. Schedule The following table lists official events during the 2000 season. Simon Dyson
Simon John Dyson (born 21 December 1977) is an English professional golfer. He played on the European Tour from 2001 to 2017, having played on the Asian Tour in 2000 and winning the Order of Merit. He had six wins on the European Tour, including the KLM Open three times. After struggling with a wrist injury he retired from competitive golf in early 2019. Amateur career In 1999, Dyson was runner-up to Paul Casey in the English Amateur and won the Finnish Amateur title. He was also a member of the Great Britain & Ireland Walker Cup team that year, before turning professional in September. Professional career In 2000, Dyson topped the Asian Tour Order of Merit after winning three tournaments on that tour, and was also Rookie of the Year. James Kingston
James Hubert Kingston (born 30 November 1965) is a South African professional golfer. Career Kingston was born in Ottosdal, South Africa. He turned professional in 1988, and is currently a member of the European Tour and the Sunshine Tour. He has also competed on the Asian Tour, where he collected four tournament victories. In 2007, Kingston finished top of the Order of Merit on the Sunshine Tour, aided by his victory at the European Tour co-sanctioned South African Airways Open. That win was his first on the European Tour, and helped him to his best Order of Merit finish of 17th in 2008. Victory at the Sunshine Tour's Vodacom Championship in February 2008, lifted Kingston into the top 100 of the Official World Golf Rankings for the first time. Daisuke Maruyama
is a Japanese professional golfer currently playing on the Japan Golf Tour. Career Maruyama was born in Chiba Prefecture and played his first full season on the Japan Golf Tour in 2001. He picked up his first win on Tour in 2005 at the Fujisankei Classic. His best year on Tour so far was in 2005, with a win, eight top-10s, and 22 of 27 cuts made. Stephen Lindskog
Stephen Atako Lindskog (born 16 May 1967) is a Nigerian- Swedish professional golfer. Lindskog was born in Nigeria and raised in Sweden. He turned professional in 1989 after winning the Spanish Amateur and played on the Swedish Golf Tour. In 1996, he relocated to Jakarta, Indonesia where his parents were based. The Volvo China Open is a men's golf tournament that has been held annually in China since 1995. The event is organised by the China Golf Association and has been co-sanctioned by the European Tour since 2004. Kang Wook-soon
Kang Wook-soon ( ko, 강욱순; born 2 June 1966) is a South Korean professional golfer. Professional career Kang has played on the Asian Tour since it began in its modern form in 1995. He topped the Order of Merit in 1996 and 1998 and was the first man to reach career earnings of US$500,000 on the tour. In 2002 he was the top player on the Korean Tour. In 2003 he missed out on a PGA Tour card by one shot after three-putting the last hole of Final Qualifying to make bogey. He still qualified to play the Nationwide Tour in 2004, but despite recording a top ten finish in his third outing he left after six events.
