Armenian Premier League
The Armenian Premier League ( hy, VBET Հայաստանի Պրեմիեր Լիգա, known as the VBET Armenian Premier League for sponsorship reasons) is the top association football, football competition in Armenia. From 1936 to 1991, the competition was held as a regional tournament within the USSR. After independence, the Football Federation of Armenia has been the unit in charge. Over the years, the league has evolved into a small league consisting of ten teams. The winner of the league is awarded a spot in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League. 2000 In Armenian Football
2000 in Armenian football was the ninth season of independent football after the split-up from the Soviet Union. The Armenian Premier League for 2000 existed of 8 teams of which the lowest ranked teams would relegate to the Armenian First League. The seventh ranked team would enter the promotion/relegation play-off with the second ranked team of the First League. However it was decided that none of the Premier League teams would be relegated and four clubs were promoted from the First League, as well as FC Banants that was given a place at the highest level for the 2001 season. In the last few weeks Ararat, Zvartnots-AAL, Dinamo and Mika all refused to play once or more times as they were demanding fair play and claiming that referees penalised them repeatedly in favour of Araks that eventually won the title due to the awarded 3-0 victories in their favour. Arman Karamyan
Arman Karamyan ( hy, Արման Քարամյան; born 14 November 1979) is a retired Armenian footballer and former international for the Armenia national football team. Arman is the twin brother of fellow football player Artavazd Karamyan. Club career Arabkir Arman Karamyan began playing football as a senior in 1996. Artur Petrosyan ( hy, Արթուր Պետրոսյան; born 17 December 1971) is a former Armenian football player who played as a midfielder. He worked as the manager of Armenia national football team. He is currently the manager of Grasshopper Club Zürich's under 18 squad. Career Petrosyan was the all-time leading scorer for the Armenia national football team, having scored 11 goals, and had participated in 69 international matches since his debut in the national team's first game in a home friendly match against Moldova on 14 October 1992. Henrikh Mkhitaryan overtook Petrosyan as Armenia's all-time scorer in 2013. He worked as youth coach of FC Zürich, the last club he played for as a professional. Tigran Yesayan
Tigran Yesayan ( hy, Տիգրան Եսայան, born 2 June 1972) is an Armenian football former player and coach. He played striker for the Armenia national football team and for several Armenian Premier League clubs. Club career Tigran Yesayan began playing football in 1990 for Zoravana, which competed in the second minor league Soviet First League. Since 1992, Zoravana moved directly to the Armenian Premier League, in which the club finished bottom of the league and had its place relegated to the Armenian First League. However, after the season, Yesayan moved to Zvartnots Echmiadzin. After the end of the season, Yesayan again moved to Dinamo Yerevan, which played in the Armenian Premier League. Yesayan was among the top goalscorers for the team and scored 30 goals for Dinamo. This score was the best in the Armenian Premier League for the 1994 season. Ara Hakobyan ( hy, Արա Հակոբյան, born on 4 November 1980) is an Armenian retired footballer who played as forward for the Armenia national team and participated in 42 international matches and scored 7 goals since his debut in a home friendly match on 21 November 1998. Hakobyan played for many Armenian and Ukrainian football clubs. Club career Ara's career began in Dvin Artashat, where he played with his brother Aram Hakobyan. But a year later, Ara moved to Alania Vladikavkaz and Aram to FC Spartak Yerevan. Next year their way came together again in Spartak Yerevan.
