1999–2000 All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship
The 1999–2000 All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship was the 30th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1970-71. The championship began on 3 October 1999 and ended on 17 March 2000. Crossmaglen Rangers entered the championship as the defending champions. On 17 March 2000, Crossmaglen Rangers won the championship following a 1–14 to 0–12 defeat of Na Fianna in the All-Ireland final at Croke Park. It was their third championship title overall and their second title in succession. Crossmaglen's Oisín McConville was the championship's top scorer with 3-29. Killererin ( ga, Cill Fhir Iarainn) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the Tuam area in County Galway, Ireland. The club is a member of the Galway GAA. A Gaelic football club, Killererin fields underage teams up to U-16s play in the Galway league and championships. History Founded in 1889, the club was originally named Killererin John Dillon's. Competing for much of the 20th century in the junior grade, the club won its first county junior championship title in 1968. Promoted to senior grade, the club won the Galway Senior Football Championship in 1976. The club went on to win several club titles, and won its sixth county title defeating Corofin in October 2010. O'Loughlin Gaels is a Gaelic Athletic Association club situated in the St. John’s parish of Kilkenny city, County Kilkenny, Ireland. History The club was founded in 1969, replacing the St. John’s Hurling Club that started back in 1887. O'Loughlin Gaels are one of the most successful Kilkenny clubs of the new millennium, winning county titles in 2001 and 2003. In 2003, they went on to claim their first Leinster senior title. Athlone GAA is the Gaelic football club in the town of Athlone in County Westmeath, Republic of Ireland. Railyard Gaelic Football Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Moneenroe, County Kilkenny, Ireland. The club is solely concerned with the game of Gaelic football. History Located in the village of Moneenroe, on the Laois-Kilkenny border, Railyard Gaelic Football Club was founded by local FCA members at the height of the Emergency in April 1943. The club was just six years old when it achieved senior status by winning the Kilkenny JFC title. After that initial victory, Railyard went on to dominate the next three decades by winning 17 Kilkenny SFC titles between 1951 and 1978, including a record-setting five titles in-a-row on two occasions. O'Hanrahans are a Gaelic football club from Carlow, County Carlow. They are one of the most successful clubs in the history of Carlow GAA. They have won the Carlow Senior Football Championship 18 times and the Leinster Senior Club Football Championship once. History The club was established in 1919 and named after Michael O'Hanrahan. Though born in Wexford, O'Hanrahan was educated by the Christian Brothers in Carlow and attended what is now St Patrick's College in Carlow town. Sarsfields is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Newbridge in County Kildare, Ireland, winner of 25 Kildare Senior Football Championships. The club name is linked to Patrick Sarsfield's castle in the area and the colours, green with white sash, were based on the colours allegedly worn by Sarsfield's men. Naomh Éanna GAA is a hurling, Gaelic football and camogie club based in Gorey, County Wexford, Ireland.St.Enda’s History The hurling club was founded in 1970 by a group of Christian Brothers and takes its name from Scoil Éanna, the school founded by Patrick Pearse. Stabannon Parnells GFC is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Stabannon, County Louth, Ireland. The club is primarily concerned with the game of Gaelic football. History Located in the village of Stabannon, County Louth, Stabannon Parnells GFC was founded in 1933, however, the existence of Gaelic football teams in the parish predates the foundation of the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1884. The club first fielded a team in 1934 when Stabannon Parnells entered the Louth second division championship. Kilanerin–Ballyfad GAA, often called simply Kilanerin, is a Gaelic football, hurling and ladies' Gaelic football club based in Kilanerin (Killinierin), County Wexford, Ireland. History There were formerly three clubs in the parish: Kilanerin, Ballyfad and Pallas Parnells. In 1953 they amalgamated with Tara Rocks to form Kilanerin–Ballyfad. The mountain on the club crest is nearby Annagh Hill. Kilanerin took their first Wexford Senior Football Championship in 1974. Pearse Park (Arklow)
Pearse Park or Pearse's Park, () is an GAA stadium in Arklow, County Wicklow, Ireland. It is the home of the Wicklow hurling and camogie teams. The ground has a capacity of about 5,000. History Pearse name and redevelopment The ground is named after both the Pearse brothers executed in 1916; Patrick Pearse and Willie Pearse. It is believed that the ground was redeveloped around 1965. Former use Before the ground was redeveloped it was a greyhound racing track known as the Arklow Greyhound Track. The track raced under Irish Coursing Club rules and opened on 30 July 1949 but the Arklow Greyhound Racing Company was fined in 1949 for failing to stamp admission tickets and failure to produce a register. In 1951 landlord William Smyth sued the company for £375 unpaid rent & £1,300 under a covenant of the lease.
