Kilanerin–Ballyfad GAA
Kilanerin–Ballyfad GAA, often called simply Kilanerin, is a Gaelic football, hurling and ladies' Gaelic football club based in Kilanerin (Killinierin), County Wexford, Ireland. History There were formerly three clubs in the parish: Kilanerin, Ballyfad and Pallas Parnells. In 1953 they amalgamated with Tara Rocks to form Kilanerin–Ballyfad. The mountain on the club crest is nearby Annagh Hill. Kilanerin took their first Wexford Senior Football Championship in 1974. Their grounds in the Borleagh townland were acquired after that, and were further developed in 1998. Kilanerin won six county football titles in the years 1993–2008. Their best season was 1996, when they reached the semi-finals of the Leinster Senior Club Football Championship, losing to St. Sylvesters. Since then, they have been county finalists twice, in 2010 and 2018. Killinierin
Kilanerin or Killinierin () is a village in north County Wexford, Ireland, 4 kilometres west of the N11 road, near the village of Inch and approximately 12 kilometres from the town of Gorey. It lies in the foothills of Croghan Mountain, the site of a once-famous gold rush. History and architecture The Roman Catholic church in the village, St. Peter and Paul's Church, is a Gothic style structure which was built in 1863. The architects were E. W. Pugin and George Ashlin. The Esmonde family of Ballynastragh were major benefactors of the church, and are listed together with other benefactors on a plaque inside the church. Borleigh Manor is a Georgian residence on of land. It is the former residence of Richard Greene the film star who is best known for his portrayal of Robin Hood. John Hegarty (Gaelic Footballer)
John Hagerty is a Gaelic football manager and former player who currently manages the Wexford county football team. He previously played for Wexford and Killanerin, as well as Leinster and UCD. He was a full-forward during his playing career. He made 105 appearances for Wexford and his inter-county career went from 1995 up until 2006, scoring 21–125 in all that time. Wexford went from Division 4 to Division 1 National Football League during his career and they got to the Division 1 final back in 2005. He played for Leinster and won a Railway Cup. He played for UCD and won a Sigerson Cup. He won six Wexford Senior Football Championship titles when he was playing and one Intermediate Football Championship title. Mattie Forde
Mattie Forde is an Irish Gaelic footballer from Ballyfad, County Wexford, Ireland. He formerly played at senior level for the Wexford county team and received an All Star in 2004. He plays his club football for Kilanerin–Ballyfad, and also plays hurling for the club. Forde established himself as one of the top forwards in the game, regularly racking up high scores. He is his county's top scorer in National Football League history, finishing his career with 29–299 (386) in that competition. He announced his retirement from inter-county football in January 2011. Football Inter-county Forde had an excellent year in 2004. He was top scorer in that year's National League, with a total of 8-36 (60 points). Wexford Junior Hurling Championship
The Wexford Junior Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the Permanent TSB Junior Hurling Championship) is an annual hurling competition contested by lower-tier Wexford GAA clubs. The Wexford County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association has organised it since 1903. The all-time record-holders are Ferns St Aidan's, who have won the competition five times. 2017–18 All-Ireland Intermediate Club Football Championship
The 2017–2018 All-Ireland Intermediate Club Football Championship is the 15th annual gaelic football club championship since its establishment in the 2003-04 season. The winners of the intermediate club championship in each county enter the competition. The 2016-17 champions were Westport from Mayo who defeated St. Colmcille's of Meath on 19 February 2017 to win their 1st title. Gaelic football ( ga, Peil Ghaelach; short name '), commonly known as simply Gaelic, GAA or Football is an Irish team sport. It is played between two teams of 15 players on a rectangular grass pitch. The objective of the sport is to score by kicking or punching the ball into the other team's goals (3 points) or between two upright posts above the goals and over a crossbar above the ground (1 point). Players advance the football up the field with a combination of carrying, bouncing, kicking, hand-passing, and soloing (dropping the ball and then toe-kicking the ball upward into the hands). Leinster Senior Club Football Championship
The Leinster Senior Club Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football tournament played on a knockout basis between the senior club championship winners of the competing counties in Leinster. The current holders of the Leinster title are Ballyboden St. Enda's from Dublin. Offaly side Gracefield were the first winners of the Leinster senior club football championship in the 1970–71 season. The most successful clubs are St. Vincent's from Dublin and Portlaoise from Laois, who have won the Leinster championship on seven occasions. Carlow club Éire Óg won 5 championships in 7 years in the 1990s. Dublin clubs have won the Leinster championship twenty one times, which is more than double any other county.
