1995 World Cup Of Golf
The 1995 World Cup of Golf took place 9–12 November at the Mission Hills Golf Club in Shenzhen, Dongguan, Guangdong, China. It was the 41st World Cup. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event with each team consisting of two players from a country. The combined score of each team determined the team results. Individuals also competed for the International Trophy. The prize money totaled $1,500,000 with $400,000 going to the winning pair and $100,000 to the top individual. The United States team of Fred Couples and Davis Love won, for a record fourth time in a row with the same players in the team, by 14 strokes over the Australia team of Brett Ogle and Robert Allenby. Eduardo Alejandro Romero (17 July 1954 – 13 February 2022) was an Argentine professional golfer. Kalle Väinölä
Kalle Väinölä (born 15 December 1971) is a retired Finnish professional golfer who played on the Challenge Tour and European Tour 1995–2004. Career Väinölä's family moved to a new house adjacent to a golf course when he was two years old, and he took up the game when he was four. An all-round sportsman, he gave up golf when he was 13 to concentrate on tennis but he returned to the game at 17 and went on to play for his native Finland, winning the Finnish Amateur, the Greek Open Amateur and the European Club Cup. Anssi Kankkonen
Anssi Kankkonen (born 11 October 1968) is a Finnish professional golfer who played on the European Tour. Kankkonen was born in Lahti, the son of former Olympic ski jumping champion Veikko Kankkonen, and followed in his father's footsteps winning a team competition in the Finnish Championships with the Lahti Ski Club team in 1985, before turning to golf. As an amateur, he represented Finland at the 1990 Eisenhower Trophy. He turned professional in 1990 and played on the Swedish Golf Tour before joining the Challenge Tour. Paul Broadhurst
Paul Andrew Broadhurst (born 14 August 1965) is an English professional golfer. He won six times on the European Tour and played in the 1991 Ryder Cup. Since turning 50, he has had success in senior events, winning the 2016 Senior Open Championship and the 2018 Senior PGA Championship. Career Broadhurst was the leading amateur at the 1988 Open Championship. He joined the European Tour in 1989 and picked up his first win at the Credit Lyonnais Cannes Open that year, and was the Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year. Anders Sørensen (born 20 February 1962) is a Danish professional golfer. Professional career Sørensen qualified for the European Tour before the 1988 season. In his first two seasons, he made the cut in slightly more than half the events and recorded two top-10s. In 1990, his third season, would be a marked improvement. He recorded the best result of his career at the first event of the year, the Atlantic Open held in Porto, Portugal. Sørensen entered the fourth round in second place. With the collapse of overnight leader Ronald Stelten, an American player, Sørensen took a two shot lead to the 71st hole. He would falter down the stretch, however, and wind up in a six-way playoff. Steen Tinning
Steen Tinning (born 7 October 1962) is a Danish professional golfer who formerly played on the European Tour and plays on the European Senior Tour. Career Tinning was born in Copenhagen. After a successful amateur career he turned professional in 1985 and soon won a place on the European Tour. This career was interrupted when he and his wife were involved in a multiple car crash in Germany in 1990, which badly damaged his right arm. He recovered and went on to win two European Tour events, the 2000 Celtic Manor Resort Wales Open and the 2002 Telefonica Open de Madrid. Jesús Armando Amaya Contreras (born 24 August 1969) is a Colombian professional golfer. Amaya was born in Bogotá, and worked as a caddie at the Club Popular de Golf La Florida before turning professional in 1991. Zhang Lianwei (; born 2 May 1965) is a Chinese professional golfer. Zhang was the first golfer from the People's Republic of China to achieve substantial success on the international professional circuit. In January 2003 he became the first Chinese golfer to win on the European Tour, and the following year was the first to compete in the Masters Tournament, one of the four major championships.
