Christian Albrecht Bluhme
Christian Albrecht Bluhme (27 December 1794 – 6 November 1866) was a Danish lawyer and conservative politician who was the second Prime Minister of Denmark (first time from 1852 to 1853 with title of Prime Minister, second time from 1864 to 1865 with title of council president). He led the country during the latter part of the Second Schleswig War. Biography Bluhme was born in Copenhagen, Denmark as the son of a commander in the navy Hans Emilius Bluhme. Bluhme went to Herlufsholm School, where he became a legal candidate in 1816. In 1820 he became an auditor to the 2nd Jutland Regiment and two years after also the assessor in the Land Surveyor. In 1824, he went to the Governing Council in Trankebar. He returned to Denmark and was appointed in 1831 with the title of State Council to the town and county bailiff at Store Heddinge in Zealand. Vice Admiral Sir Georg Carl Amdrup (Copenhagen, Denmark, November 19, 1866 – Copenhagen, January 15, 1947), RN was a Danish naval officer, Vice Admiral and Greenland researcher. Career In 1884, Amdrup, of the Royal Danish Navy, was sent to Amassalik. After wintering, he explored the coast to the north, including an examination of the Kangerlussuaq Fjord, known until then only from Inuit reports. He mapped a large length of coastline while collecting many geological and ethnological finds. By July 1885, he reached Aggas Island (67° 22' North), the furthest north of this survey. Georg Jensen
Georg Arthur Jensen (31 August 1866 in Rådvad – 2 October 1935 in Copenhagen) was a Danish silversmith and founder of Georg Jensen A/S (also known as Georg Jensen Sølvsmedie). Early life Born in 1866, Jensen was the son of a knife grinder in the town of Raadvad, just to the north of Copenhagen. Jensen began his training in goldsmithing at the age of 14 in Copenhagen. His apprenticeship with the firm Guldsmed Andersen, ended in 1884, and this freed Georg to follow his artistic interests. In 1884 he became a journeyman and in 1887 he enrolled at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts (Kongelige Danske Kunstakademi), where he studied sculpture with Theobald Stein. He graduated in 1892 and began exhibiting his work. After graduation he started studying ceramics with Joachim Petersen (1870–1943). Adolph Ludvig Otto Jensen (15 July 1866 – 24 May 1948) was an economist and statistician of international standing, and from 1913 to 1936 the head of the Statistics Department of the Danish Ministry of Finance.Obituary by H.
