Caroline Von Schimmelmann
Caroline von Schimmelmann, née ''Tugendreich Friedeborn'' (1730–1795), was a Danish countess. Her parentage is unknown, but she was the foster daughter of Heinrich Ernst von Gersdorfs in Dresden, and given a good education by him. She married Heinrich Carl von Schimmelmann in 1747. Her spouse had an important role within Danish government from 1762, and the couple became central figures within the Danish aristocracy. The masquerade balls hosted by the Schimmelmann couple in their palace in Copenhagen belonged to the foremost centers of Danish society life in the 1760s, and these balls were later blamed to have encouraged queen Caroline Matilda's adultery with Struensee: the couple were also noted to have behaved suspiciously at them.August Fjelstrup: Damerne ved Karoline Mathildes Hof, 1909. Danish Gold Coast
The Danish Gold Coast ( da, Danske Guldkyst or ''Dansk Guinea'') comprised the colonies that Denmark–Norway controlled in Africa as a part of the Gold Coast (roughly present-day southeast Ghana), which is on the Gulf of Guinea. It was colonized by the Dano-Norwegian fleet, first under indirect rule by the Danish West India Company (a chartered company), later as a crown colony of the kingdom of Denmark-Norway. The five Danish Gold Coast Territorial Settlements and forts of the Kingdom of Denmark were sold to the United Kingdom and were incorporated into the British Gold Coast in 1850. The area under Danish influence was over 10,000 square kilometres. Friderich Christian Hager
Friderich Christian Hager (9 February 1756 – August 17, 1795) was a Danish colonial commander and governor. Born in Ribe, Hager was the son of the then organist at Ribe Domkirke, Johann Wilhelm Friedrich Hager (1728–1799), and his wife Anna Margrethe Ingwersen (1736–1759). Hager's father later became precentor in Copenhagen and then newspaper publisher in Flensburg and Altona. F.C. Niels Lunde Reiersen
Niels Lunde Reiersen (16 February 1742 - 20 July 1795) was a Danish government official, merchant, silk manufacturer, landowner and philanthropist. He was the owner of the Royal Danish Silk Manufactury in Copenhagen (1775-1796) as well as a founding partner of the leading trading firm De Coninck & Reiersen (1775-1790). Reiersen owned Nysø Manor, Oremandsgaard Manor and Lilliendal Manor as well as the estates at Jungshoved and Høfdinggård on Southern Zealand. Early life Reiersen was born in Copenhagen, the son of bookkeeper Peter Reiersen (1713–1773) and Anna Elisabeth Lunde (1719–1779). Hans Næss (architect)
Hans Pedersen Næss (October 1723 – 3 January 1795) was a Danish architect. He was one of a generation of Neoclassical architects educated under Nicolas-Henri Jardin and Caspar Frederik Harsdorff; he mainly designed manor houses. Biography His exact date of birth remains unknown, but Hans Næss was born the son of a farmer at Næs on the island of Funen near Assens, Denmark. He was baptized on 24 October 1723. He worked as a notary at the Brahesborg estate and then for three years as a local functionary at Assens Town Hall before travelling to Copenhagen, where he attended the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. There he studied under Nicolas-Henri Jardin and won the large silver medal in 1758, the small gold medal in 1760 and 1762, and then finally, the large gold medal in 1763. After completing his education, he taught geometry and perspective at the Academy of Arts from 1765 to 1782 and worked for Harsdorff.
