1996 Espirito Santo Trophy
The 1996 Espirito Santo Trophy took place 7–10 November at St. Elena Golf Club in Manila, Philippines. It was the 17th women's golf World Amateur Team Championship for the Espirito Santo Trophy. The tournament was a stroke play team event, due to heavy rain, shortened from 72 holes to 54 holes. There were 34 team entries, each with three players. The best two scores for each round counted towards the team total. The South Korea team won the Trophy for their first title, beating team Italy by two strokes. Italy earned the silver medal while the defending champions United States took the bronze on third place another four strokes back. The individual title went to Silvia Cavalleri, Italy, whose score of one-over-par, 217, was one stroke ahead of Janice Moodie, Great Britain & Ireland. Karen Margrethe Juul (born 23 December 1975) is a Danish professional golfer. Amateur career Juul was born in Esbjerg, Denmark. She practically grew up on the golf course, her mother a national team player, and started training golf at 9 years old. Mia Löjdahl
Mia Löjdahl (born 20 May 1973) is a retired Swedish professional golfer. She won the 1994 European Lady Junior's Team Championship, topped the Swedish Golf Tour Order of Merit in 1995 as an amateur, and played on the Ladies European Tour six seasons 1997–2002. Sara Eklund
Sara Eklund (born 31 July 1974) is a retired Swedish professional golfer. She won the 1995 Rörstrand Ladies Open as an amateur and played on the Ladies European Tour six seasons, 1997–2002. Amateur career Eklund played on the Swedish Golf Tour as an amateur 1993–1996 and won the Rörstrand Ladies Open in 1995. Anna Berg (born 25 April 1973) is a Swedish professional golfer who played on the Ladies European Tour. She was 1997 LET Rookie of the Year and runner-up at the Taiwan Ladies Open in 2001. Jennifer Rosales (born September 17, 1978) is a professional golfer from the Philippines, currently playing on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour. Sophie Sandolo (born 20 July 1976) is an Italian professional golfer who plays on the Ladies European Tour. Amateur career Sandolo was born Nice, France. Mhairi McKay (born 18 April 1975) is a Scottish professional golfer who played mainly on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour and was also a member of the Ladies European Tour.
