Budapest Honvéd FC
Budapest Honvéd Football Club (), commonly known as Budapest Honvéd or simply Honvéd, is a Hungarian sports club based in Kispest, Budapest, with the colours of red and black. The club is best known for its football team. ''Honvéd'' means the Homeland Defence. Originally formed as ''Kispest AC'', they became ''Kispest FC'' in 1926 before reverting to their original name in 1944. The team enjoyed a golden age during the 1950s when it was renamed ''Budapesti Honvéd SE'' and became the Hungarian Army team. Ferencvárosi Torna Club, known as Ferencváros (), Fradi, or simply FTC, is a professional football club based in Ferencváros, Budapest, Hungary, that competes in the Nemzeti Bajnokság I, the top flight of Hungarian football. Ferencváros was founded in 1899 by Ferenc Springer and a group of local residents of Budapest's ninth district, Ferencváros. Ferencváros is best known internationally for winning the 1964–65 edition of the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup after defeating Juventus 1–0 in Turin in the final. Sándor Puhl
Sándor Puhl (14 July 1955 – 20 May 2021) was a Hungarian football referee, mostly known for supervising four matches in the 1994 FIFA World Cup in the United States, including the final between Brazil and Italy. He also refereed UEFA Champions League matches, including the 1997 UEFA Champions League Final between Borussia Dortmund and Juventus. Dortmund ended up being 3–1 winners. He was elected as IFFHS' World's Best Referee of the Year four times in a row between 1994 and 1997. After retiring as a referee, he was Deputy Chairman of the Hungarian Football Association from 2000 to 2006. He also worked as a co-commentator for a Hungarian sports TV channel. Puhl spoke Hungarian, German, Italian and English. Bozsik József Stadion
The Bozsik József Stadion was a multi-use UEFA category 4 stadium in Budapest, Hungary. The old stadium was demolished completely in 2019. It was used for football matches and was the home stadium of Budapest Honvéd FC. The stadium had a capacity of 8,760 spectators. History Near the present day stadium (at the site of the cemetery) the first own football ground of the club was built. Supporters gave KAC an estate for thar purpose at the end of Sárkány (Dragon) Street. A fundraiser was initiated among local craftsmen and tradesmen and it was Ferenc Polacsek (hotel owner) and Ferenc Herbacsek (wood trader) who gave major financial contributions to build the sports complex. The inauguration of the Sárkány Street complex was in 1913, hence the name Dragon's Cave - given later by the visiting teams. József Csábi
József Csábi (born 14 February 1967) is a Hungarian football manager and former player who is the manager of BVSC. He was formerly the interim head coach of the national team of Hungary for one match in 2013, following the dismissal of Sándor Egervári. As a player, Csábi played as a defender.
