1993 DFB-Supercup
The 1993 DFB-Supercup, known as the Panasonic DFB-Supercup for sponsorship purposes, was the 7th DFB-Supercup, an annual football match contested by the winners of the previous season's Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal competitions. The match was played at the Ulrich-Haberland-Stadion in Leverkusen, and contested by league champions Werder Bremen and cup winners Bayer Leverkusen. Bremen won the match 7–6 on penalties, after a 2–2 draw, claiming their second title. The 1988 DFB-Supercup was the second DFB-Supercup, an annual football match contested by the winners of the previous season's Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal competitions. The match was played at the Waldstadion in Frankfurt, and contested by league champions Werder Bremen and cup winners Eintracht Frankfurt. Bremen won the match 2–0 for their first title. Pavel Hapal
Pavel Hapal (born 27 July 1969) is a Czech former football player and current manager of Baník Ostrava. Playing career Hapal's professional career began at SK Sigma Olomouc. After the club's successful season when they reached the quarter-final of 1991–92 UEFA Cup he signed for Bayer Leverkusen with whom he won the DFB-Pokal in 1993. During his career he also played for Dukla Prague, CD Tenerife, Sparta Prague and SK Dynamo České Budějovice. At international level he earned 31 caps for Czechoslovakia and later Czech Republic having scored one goal. Hapal ended his career as a player in 2002. Managerial career From 2003, he has worked as a manager. In 2010, he won the Slovak Superliga with MŠK Žilina and entered the 2010-11 Champions League group stage, however his team lost all six of their matches. Thomas Wolter
Thomas Wolter (born 4 October 1963) is a German former professional footballer who played as a midfielder or a defender, and the current manager of SV Werder Bremen's youth academy. Club career Born in Hamburg, Wolter arrived at SV Werder Bremen in the summer of 1984, from local amateurs Hamburg Eimsbütteler Ballspiel Club. After only three games in his first season in the Bundesliga he became first-choice, and remained his entire professional career with the same club. Due to injury, Wolter was only able to appear in 16 matches in the 1987–88 campaign as the Hanseatic League team won the second national championship in its history, the first in 23 years. Ulrich Borowka
Ulrich 'Uli' Ernst Borowka (born 19 May 1962) is a German former professional footballer who played as a defender. A versatile blue-collar worker with a powerful shot, he spent the better part of his career at Werder Bremen (nearly one full decade), amassing Bundesliga totals of 388 games and 19 goals over the course of 15 seasons. Borowka represented West Germany at Euro 1988. Mario Basler (born 18 December 1968) is a German football manager and former professional player who mainly played as a right midfielder. He is currently at TSG Eisenberg as a player and advisor. Miroslav "Mirko" Votava (born 25 April 1956) is a German retired footballer and manager. A defensive midfielder of stamina and tactical awareness, he played 546 matches in the Bundesliga (fourth in the all-time list at the time of his retirement), retiring at the age of 41. Andreas "Andi" Herzog (born 10 September 1968) is an Austrian former footballer and manager who last managed Admira Wacker. Ulf Kirsten (born 4 December 1965) is a German former professional footballer who played as a striker. Nicknamed ''Der Schwatte'' (dialect for ''Der Schwarze'', 'The Black One'), he is the first player in history to reach a total 100 caps playing with two different national teams (first for East Germany, then Reunified Germany).
