Abdel Karim Obeid
Abdel Karim Obeid (; ar, الشيخ عبد الكريم عبيد; born 1957) is a Sheikh and Imam of the village of Jibchit in south Lebanon, high-place of Lebanese Shiism. Life Regarded as the spiritual leader and soldier of the 'Islamic Amal' (no relation with the similarly named secular Resistance movement Amal, except that both catered to the Lebanese Shia community) in the south of Tyre, close to Hezbollah and related to the operations of capturing western hostages since 1982. Abdel Karim Obeid was captured on 28 July 1989 by nearly 25 Israeli commandos in his village, Jibchit. Danny Abdalla, a Lebanese criminal living in Denmark, who also admitted to having killed Ragheb Harb on behalf of the Israelis, claimed to have participated in the kidnapping of Abdul Karim Obeyd. As a result, Hezbollah put Abdalla on their death list, and he is wanted in Lebanon. A suicide attack is any violent Strike (attack), attack, usually entailing the attacker detonating an explosive, where the attacker has suicide, accepted their own death as a direct result of the attacking method used. Kidnapping And Murder Of Avi Sasportas And Ilan Saadon
The killing of Avi Sasportas and Ilan Saadon refers to two Israeli soldiers abducted by Hamas on February 16 and May 3, 1989, and subsequently killed. They were the first victims of the newly founded Palestinian militant organization. Ilan Saadon's body was only found in 1996. 1989 Tel Aviv Stabbing Attack
The 1989 Purim stabbing attack was the random stabbing of Israeli civilians in Tel Aviv, Israel on the Jewish holiday of Purim on 21 March 1989. The attacker was an Arab construction worker. Two civilians were murdered and one severely injured in the attack. Attack Muhammad Zakut stabbed three Israeli with a commando knife as he shouted "Allahu Akbar" (God is great). One of the victims, Kurt Moshe Schallinger, 73, was killed as he left his car on a Tel Aviv street full of children in costume, celebrating the holiday of Purim. During his interrogation, Zakut said his goal was to "stab in the neck the first Israeli his eyes fell on." He murdered two Israelis and severely injured a third in the back of his head and his spinal cord before being caught. Death Of Binyamin Meisner
On 24 February 1989, Nablus Palestinians dropped a cement block on the head of Binyamin Meisner, killing him. Binyamin Meisner (also spelled Benjamin Meisner, Ben Meisner, Benny Meisner, Benjamin Mizner, or Biniamín Meisner) was serving as a staff sergeant in the Israel Defense Forces. He was the fifth Israeli soldier killed in the First Intifada. Background During the First Intifada, violent demonstrations took place in Nablus after a funeral cortege was fired on by Israeli troops on December 18, 1988. Two Palestinians were killed, and another eight were killed when Israeli put down the resulting protests. The city was then place under a curfew for six days.
