The 1986 Danish speedway season was the 1986 season of motorcycle speedway in Denmark. The season was hugely significant because a new professional league was introduced called the Danish Superliga. Previously the league consisted of multiple amateur teams and Danish speedway suffered from the fact that many of their top professional riders chose not to race in Denmark. Individual Danish Final (world championship round) Five riders from the Danish final would progress to the Nordic Final as part of the 1986 Individual Speedway World Championship. The final was held on 8 May at the Hele Fyns Speedway Center in Fjelsted and was won by Hans Nielsen. Final Individual Championship The 1986 Danish Individual Speedway Championship was the 1986 edition of the Danish Individual Speedway Championship. The final was held at Randers on ? August. Kurt Hansen (speedway Rider)
Kurt Hansen (born 2 October 1964) is a former motorcycle speedway rider from Denmark. Career He competed in two finals of the Speedway Under-21 World Championship (known as the European Championship at the time). The first was as a reserve in the 1984 Individual Speedway Junior European Championship and the second as an outright qualifier in the 1985 Individual Speedway Junior European Championship, where he finished in 9th place. He only rode in the British leagues for two seasons (1984 and 1985) for the Halifax Dukes. Jan Jakobsen
Jan Jakobsen (12 May 1965 – 23 August 2020) was a motorcycle speedway rider from Denmark. Career Jakobsen came to prominence after winning the Danish Under 21 Individual Speedway Championship in 1984. He reached the final of the Under-21 World Championship in 1986. Also in 1986, he won the Danish Speedway League with Fjelsted Speedway Klub. He started racing in the British leagues during the 1987 British League season, when riding for the Cradley Heathens as a replacement for Alan Grahame. He won another Danish Speedway League title with Fjelsted in 1992. He was also a successful team manager but died in 2020. Fjelsted Speedway Klub or Team Fjelsted is a speedway club from the village of Fjelsted near Harndrup in Denmark, who compete in the Danish Speedway League. The Danish Speedway League ( da, Dansk Speedway Liga) or Danish Super League or Metal League as it is called today is the top division of motorcycle speedway in Denmark. Gert Handberg
Gert Handberg (born 30 May 1969 in Brædstrup, Denmark) is a former international motorcycle speedway rider form Denmark. Career Gert joined Cradley Heathens in 1988 on a recommendation, after winning the Danish Junior Championship during the 1986 Danish speedway season. He rode for the club for six consecutive seasons. In 1992, he became the champion of Denmark. He was a member of the Denmark speedway team when they won the 1991 World Team Cup. He also won the World Under-21 Championship in 1989 and finished 3rd in the 1992 senior world final. Danish Under 21 Individual Speedway Championship
The Danish Under 21 Individual Speedway Championship is a competition for riders who are under the age of 21, holding a Danish passport and a valid DMU licence. The competition was first staged in 1960 and was won by Jorgen Hoffman. Although there was no competition in 1961, the event returned in 1962 and has been staged every year since. Flemming Rasmussen (speedway Rider)
Flemming Rasmussen (born 1 January 1958) is a Danish sound engineer, record producer, and owner and founder of Sweet Silence Studios in Copenhagen. He is chief sound engineer at Sweet Silence Studios. Biography Throughout his career, Rasmussen has worked with many different music genres, but is best known for his work with heavy metal. Rasmussen began his career as an assistant at the Rosenberg Studios facility run by producer/engineer Freddy Hansson. In 1976, Hansson founded the Sweet Silence Studios and brought Rasmussen with him. In 1980, Rasmussen became co-owner of the studio, and one year later became an engineer, recording the 1981 album '' Difficult to Cure'' by Rainbow.
