Fjelsted Speedway Klub or Team Fjelsted is a speedway club from the village of Fjelsted near Harndrup in Denmark, who compete in the Danish Speedway League. History A mini speedway track was built in the spring of 1971 in an old apple garden, before a larger track was built in 1976 after a lease agreement with a local farm owner was reached. Fjelsted Speedway Stadium
Fjelsted Speedway Stadium is a Speedway stadium in Harndrup, Denmark. The stadium is the home track for the Fjelsted Speedway Club. The municipality identified the village of Fjelsted for the construction of a motorcycling track in 1971 on the location of an old apple orchard. After joining the Danish Motor Union (DMU) in 1973, a larger track was built three years later in 1976. The 1990 Intercontinental final was held at the track. The Danish Speedway League ( da, Dansk Speedway Liga) or Danish Super League or Metal League as it is called today is the top division of motorcycle speedway in Denmark. Motorcycle speedway, usually referred to simply as speedway, is a motorcycle sport involving four and sometimes up to six riders competing over four anti-clockwise laps of an oval circuit. The motorcycles are specialist machines that use only one gear and have no brakes. Racing takes place on a flat oval track usually consisting of dirt, loosely packed shale, or crushed rock (mostly used in Australia and New Zealand). Peter Kildemand
Peter Kildemand (born 1 September 1989) is a motorcycle speedway rider from Denmark. Career He is a member of the Danish national team. He was a member of the Swindon Robins Elite League Championship winning side of 2012 and was named "Rider of the Year" for the club at the end of the season. Kildemand was also part of the Fjelsted team that won the 2017 Danish Speedway League. He was captain of Västervik Speedway team in 2018. In 2022, he signed for King's Lynn Stars but was unable to race for them after sustaining a pre season injury. Hans Nørgaard Andersen (born 3 November 1980, in Odense, Denmark) is a motorcycle speedway rider who captained the Denmark speedway team that won the Speedway World Cup in 2006 and 2008. Career summary Despite being originally left out of the 2006 Speedway Grand Prix series, he replaced the retired Tony Rickardsson, eventually winning two Grand Prix meetings and finishing sixth in the final standings. He also became only the third rider to win a GP as a wild card. In 2007, Andersen became Danish National Champion for the first time. Andersen left his British club, Peterborough Panthers, mid-season in July 2008 after it emerged that the club had not paid him wages amounting to several thousand pounds. Kasper Andersen (born 22 August 1998) is a Danish Motorcycle speedway, speedway rider who currently rides in Denmark for Fjelsted. Career He rode in the top tier of British Speedway, riding for the King's Lynn Stars in the SGB Premiership 2019. He was unable to race for the Redcar Bears in the SGB Championship 2021 following difficulties over a permit. In a twist of fate however, Andersen was drafted in as a replacement for Fernando Garcia (speedway rider), Coty Garcia at Berwick Bandits, who was stranded in his homeland Argentina since the start of the season due to travel restrictions.
