1985–86 Cypriot Third Division
The 1985–86 Cypriot Third Division was the 15th season of the Cypriot third-level football league. APEP FC won their 1st title. Format Fourteen teams participated in the 1985–86 Cypriot Third Division. All teams played against each other twice, once at their home and once away. The team with the most points at the end of the season crowned champions. The first three teams were promoted to 1986–87 Cypriot Second Division. Cypriot Third Division
The Cypriot Third Division (Greek language, Greek: Πρωτάθλημα Γ΄ Κατηγορίας) is the third tier Association football, football league competition in Cyprus, run by the Cyprus Football Association. Each year, the top finishing teams of the league are promoted to the Cypriot Second Division, and the lowest finishing teams are relegated to the STOK Elite Division. History The Cypriot Third Division was held for the first time in the 1970–71 Cypriot Third Division, 1970–71 season as the third level of the Cypriot football. Neos Aionas Trikomou
Neos Aionas Trikomou (, "New Century Trikomou") was a Cypriot football club based in Trikomo. Founded in 1900, it was played sometimes in Second and sometimes in the Third and Fourth Divisions. After the Turkish invasion of Cyprus and occupation of the city of Trikomo in 1974, the team was displaced to the southern part of the island, in Limassol. The football team dissolved in 1992 due to financial problems. 1985–86 Cypriot Cup
The 1985–86 Cypriot Cup was the 44th edition of the Cypriot Cup. A total of 41 clubs entered the competition. It began on 4 December 1985 with the preliminary round and concluded on 23 June 1986 with the final which was held at Tsirion Stadium. Apollon won their 3rd Cypriot Cup trophy after beating APOEL 2–0 in the final. Format In the 1985–86 Cypriot Cup, participated all the teams of the Cypriot First Division, 13 of 14 teams from the Cypriot Second Division and all the teams of the Cypriot Third Division. The competition consisted of six knock-out rounds. In the preliminary round each tie was played as a single leg and was held at the home ground of one of the two teams, according to the draw results. No team was relegated to the 1986–87 Cypriot Second Division. The champions ensured their participation in the 1986–87 European Cup and the runners-up in the 1986–87 UEFA Cup. Elpida Xylofagou is a Cypriot football club based in the village of Xylofagou in Larnaca district. The club, which was established in 1959, currently competes in the Cypriot Second Division, after a successful campaign in the Cypriot Third Division, from which it gains the promotion.
