Phileleftheros
''O Phileleftheros'' ( el, Ὁ Φιλελεύθερος, meaning "The Liberal") is the largest newspaper (by circulation) in Cyprus, with about 26,000 copies daily (2002). Established in 1955, it is also the oldest Greek-language daily newspaper in circulation on the island. Other daily newspapers published in Cyprus include '' Politis,'' ''Simerini'', ''Haravgi'', and ''Alithia''. Over the years, ''Phileleftheros'' has expanded into a publishing company and has released several magazines (including the Cyprus editions of ''Cosmopolitan'' and ''Top Gear''), as well as recently launching its own radio station, Radio Sfera. In a newspaper scene dominated by political parties, ''Phileleftheros'' gains a reputation of being independent and not under the influence of any particular political party. Alithia
''Alithia'' ( el, Η Αλήθεια, meaning "The Truth") is one of the largest newspapers by circulation in Cyprus, with about 11,000 copies daily. It is headquartered in Nicosia and connected with the leadership of the conservative Democratic Rally party. According to the advertisement published in the ''Phileleftheros'' newspaper on 24 August 2014, citing as a source the company RAI Consultants, the ''Alithia'' Sunday issue's circulation in May 2014 was 6,722, and therefore it came sixth. Stephanos Constantinides
Stephanos Constantinides (born February 28, 1941 in Cyprus) is a Canadian scholar. Biography Education Stephanos Constantinides was educated at the University of Athens ( BA in History and Literature), then in Paris at the Sorbonne. At the Sorbonne he studied Thucydides with famous scholar Jacqueline de Romilly, with whom he obtained a master's degree. In 1974 he obtained a Ph.D. in Political Sociology from the University of Paris I and in 1976 a Ph.D. in Political Science from Panthéon-Assas University. Career He taught at Laval University, the University of Montreal and the University of Quebec at Montreal. He published several volumes including ''Les Grecs du Québec'' and dozens of articles. He also edited several volumes in the areas of Sociology, History and Political Science. His particular areas of interest include the European Union, Greece, Turkey, Cyprus and the Greek diaspora. Simerini
''I Simerini'' (English: The Daily) is a centre-right Greek language independently owned newspaper published in Cyprus since 1976. It is one of the largest newspapers on the island with a daily circulation of around 9,000 copies. Other daily Greek language newspapers (2013) published in Cyprus are ''Haravgi'', ''Phileleftheros'', and '' Politis''.
