The 1984 Men's World Outdoor Bowls Championship was held at Westburn Park in Aberdeen, Scotland, from 11 to 28 July 1984. Peter Belliss won the singles defeating Willie Wood in the final. Wood qualified for the final because he finished with a seven-shot advantage in section A over David Bryant despite identical records of winning nine rounds each. Morgan Moffat
David Morgan Moffat (born 22 January 1943) is a Scottish-born New Zealand lawn and indoor bowler, who has won medals representing both Scotland and New Zealand at the Commonwealth Games. Bowls career Moffat was born in Scotland and won a bronze medal in the 1974 Commonwealth Games in Christchurch before emigrating the following year to New Zealand. Rowan James Brassey (born 18 January 1956) is a former New Zealand international lawn and indoor bowls player. Bowls career An earth-moving contractor by trade, Brassey's first national success was the 1980 New Zealand Open Pairs. He went on to win eight New Zealand National Bowls Championships titles in the pairs (1982) and the fours (1981, 1982, 1990, 1995, 2002, 2003 & 2012/13) when bowling for the Okahu Bay, Avondale and Cabramatta Bowls Clubs respectively. Jim Baker is a former Northern Irish international lawn and indoor bowler. Bowls career Baker was born in Belfast on 18 February 1958. After finishing runner-up in the 1982 World Indoor Bowls Championship he went one better in 1984 clinching the World Indoor title. Baker was part of the Gold Medal-winning triples for the combined Irish team in the 1984 World Outdoor Bowls Championship and Gold Medal-winning fours in the 1988 World Outdoor Bowls Championship. Samuel Barnett Allen is a Northern Irish lawn and indoor bowler and was born in Ballymena, Northern Ireland on 6 July 1938. Bowls career Allen has been bowling since 1966 and has skipped a combined Ireland both indoors and outdoors. He won a Fours bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games for Northern Ireland.
