Club Baloncesto Breogán, S.A.D., also known as Río Breogán for sponsorship reasons, is a professional basketball club based in Lugo, Spain. The team plays in the Liga ACB. The club was founded in 1966 by the Varela-Portas brothers. The team played for the first time in the Spanish top league in 1970. The name of the club is a reference to legendary Galician King Breogán. The Breogán jerseys have always been sky blue with details in details in white or dark blue. The shorts have been also traditionally sky blue, with the exception of some years that have been white too. Their home arena is the Pazo dos Deportes, an arena with a seating capacity of 6.500 people. Real Canoe Natación Club is the basketball team of this club based in Madrid, Spain. The section was founded in 1940. The men's team played in the top division of Spanish basketball from 1957 to 1965, but nowadays plays in LEB Oro. The women's team was Liga Femenina champion three times, but now plays in Liga Femenina 2. History Men's team Founded in 1940, after achieving several titles of second division and Regional Castilian championships, made its debut in the Liga Nacional in 1957, where it remained until 1965. After reaching the second division in several stages during its whole history, it finally joined the Liga EBA since its foundation in 1994, where it played 20 of its 23 seasons before promoting and accepting to play in LEB Plata, third tier since 2000, league that refused to play after promoting in 2012. Real Grupo De Cultura Covadonga (basketball)
Real Grupo de Cultura Covadonga is a Spanish basketball team based in Gijón, Asturias. It currently plays in Liga EBA. History In its first years, the club was quarterfinalist of the Copa del Rey (1949, 1950 and 1951). During the 1960s and the 1970s the team played in tiers 2 and 3, until 1982 when due to financial problems it sold its spot to recently founded Gijón Baloncesto. It came back to the national divisions in 1997, when it promoted to Liga EBA. Nowadays, Grupo Covadonga alternates seasons between this league and Primera División de Baloncesto. Unió Esportiva Recreativa Pineda de Mar (in Spanish, ''Unión Deportiva Recreativa Pineda de Mar'') is a basketball club based in Pineda de Mar, Catalonia, Spain. History The club was created in 1952 as a merge of three entities in the municipality (''Club Ciclista'', ''Club de Bàsquet'' and ''Club d'Escacs''), but it was not officially founded until 1954. UER Pineda de Mar played in Primera División from 1971 to 1979, when it was relegated to the Primera B. In these golden years, the club achieved the fourth position in the 1976–77 and played two times the Korać Cup.
