Tsai Chin () is a pop and folk singer from Taiwan. Tsai sings in both Mandarin Chinese and Taiwanese Hokkien and is known for her rich, magnetic vocals. Because of this, she is also known as the "Patti Page of Taiwan". Music career Tsai's hits include "Forgotten Times" (《被遺忘的時光》), "Just Like Your Tenderness" (《恰似你的温柔》), "The Last Night" (《最後一夜》), "Reading You" (《讀你》) and "The Spirit of Your Eyes" (《你的眼神》). The peak of her popularity in Taiwan was from the late 1970s to the mid-1990s but she remains popular in Mainland China. Executive Yuan
The Executive Yuan () is the executive branch of the government of the Republic of China (Taiwan). Its leader is the Premier, who is appointed by the President of the Republic of China, and requires confirmation by the Legislative Yuan. Under the amended constitution, the head of the Executive Yuan is the Premier who is positioned as the head of government and has the power to appoint members to serve in the cabinet, while the ROC President is the head of state under the semi-presidential system, who can appoint the Premier and nominate the members of the cabinet. The Premier may be removed by a vote of no-confidence by a majority of the Legislative Yuan, after which the President may either remove the Premier or dissolve the Legislative Yuan and initiate a new election for legislators. Shyu Jong-shyong (; born 7 October 1957) is a Taiwanese politician. Education Shyu obtained his bachelor's degree in political science from Soochow University (Taiwan), Soochow University in 1981. He then continued his studies in the United States and obtained his master's degree in special education and doctorate in physical disability welfare from the University of Northern Colorado. Chiang Wei-ling
Chiang Wei-ling (; born 2 September 1957) is a Taiwanese educator. He was the Minister of the Ministry of Education (MOE) of the Executive Yuan in 2012–2014. He is also the former President of National Central University in Taoyuan. ROC Education Ministry Taiwan-run education centers in Vietnam closure In February 2013, three Taiwan-run education centers in Vietnam specializing in teaching and teacher training on Chinese language were closed down due to financial difficulties. Initially they tried to share the cost between MOE and local institutions. However, the institution decided that the operation of these education centers were not cost-effective. Han Kuo-yu
Daniel Han Kuo-yu (; born 17 June 1957) is a Taiwanese politician. He was a member of the Legislative Yuan from 1993 to 2002, representing a portion of Taipei County for three terms. He later became general manager of Taipei Agricultural Products Marketing Corporation. In 2017, Han contested the Kuomintang chairmanship, losing to Wu Den-yih. Han was elected Mayor of Kaohsiung in November 2018, and became the first Kuomintang politician since Wu in 1998 to hold the office. He was the KMT candidate for the 2020 Taiwanese presidential election, but lost to Tsai Ing-wen. New Taipei
New Taipei City is a Special municipality (Taiwan), special municipality located in northern Taiwan. The city is home to an estimated population of 3,974,683 as of 2022, making it the most populous city of Taiwan, and also the second largest special municipality by area, behind Kaohsiung. Hou Yu-ih (; born 7 June 1957), also romanized Hou You-yi, is a Taiwanese politician. He has served as Director-General of the National Police Agency from 2006 to 2008 and as acting mayor of New Taipei City from October 2015 to January 2016. He has been the incumbent mayor of New Taipei since 25 December 2018. Law enforcement career Upon his graduation from the Central Police University, Hou was sent to the Taipei City Police Department.
