Shyu Jong-shyong
Shyu Jong-shyong (; born 7 October 1957) is a Taiwanese politician. Education Shyu obtained his bachelor's degree in political science from Soochow University (Taiwan), Soochow University in 1981. He then continued his studies in the United States and obtained his master's degree in special education and doctorate in physical disability welfare from the University of Northern Colorado. Early career After graduation from University of Northern Colorado, Shyu became a specialist under the Department of Social Affairs of Taiwan Provincial Government in 1987–1988. In 1988-1991 he became an associate researcher at the Taiwan Secondary Education Teachers Training Center and in 1991-1993 he became an associate professor at the Department of Special Education of National Taichung University of Education, National Taichung Teacher's College. The University of Northern Colorado (UNC) is a public university in Greeley, Colorado. The university was founded in 1889 as the State Normal School of Colorado and has a long history in teacher education. Taiwan Area
The free area of the Republic of China, also known as the "Taiwan Area of the Republic of China", "Tai-Min Area (Taiwan and Fujian)" or simply the "Taiwan Area", is a term used by the government of the Republic of China (ROC) to refer to the territories under its actual control. The area currently under the definition consists of the island groups of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen, Matsu and some minor islands. This term is used in the "Additional Articles of the Constitution of the Republic of China". The collective term "Tai-Peng-Kin-Ma" is literally equivalent except that it only refers to the islands of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu Area, to the exclusion of the South China Sea possessions—Pratas Island (Tungsha/Dongsha) and Taiping Island.
