Suzanne "Susi" Wirz (born 30 November 1931) is a Swiss figure skater. She is the 1952 Swiss national champion. Wirz represented Switzerland at the 1952 Winter Olympics where she placed 15th. Charles Weissmann
Charles Weissmann (born 14 October 1931) is a Hungarian- Swiss molecular biologist. Weissmann is particularly known for the first cloning and expression of interferon and his contributions to the unraveling of the molecular genetics of neurogenerative prion diseases such as scrapie, Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease and "mad cow disease". Weissmann went to University of Zurich and obtained his MD in 1956 and Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry in 1961. In 1978, Weissmann co-founded the biotech company Biogen in Geneva. Biogen is considered one of the pioneers of the biotechnology industries. Weissmann was director of the Institute for Molecular Biology in Zurich, President of the Roche Research Foundation and co-founder and Member of the Scientific Council of Biogen. He was Chairman of the Department of Infectology, Scripps Florida until 2011. Weissmann won several awards, including the Otto Warburg Medal (1980) and the Scheele Award (1982). Bruno Weber
Bruno Weber (10 April 1931 – 24 October 2011) was a Swiss artist and architect, specializing in fantastic realism. Biography Early life Bruno Weber was born in 1931 in Dietikon, Switzerland. In 1947, he completed college in Zürich under Johannes Itten, the inventor of a " color sphere". Afterwards he began training until 1949 as a lithographer with Orell Fuessli (Zürich); later he studied in Italy, Greece and Czechoslovakia. Career Weber extended his Bruno Weber Park (a sculpture garden) in Spreitenbach and Dietikon, where among other things, his house with a 25m high tower is situated. The park extends over a surface of 20'000 m². The sculpture park is the synthesis of the artist's life work, and is visited annually by thousands of people. From 1991 to 2003 Weber was responsible for the sculptural decorations on the Uetliberg mountain, including the street lamps leading to the ''top of Zürich'' plateau (''Uto Kulm'') and park benches, that still exist. Rudolf Kelterborn
Rudolf Kelterborn (3 September 1931 – 24 March 2021) was a Swiss musician and composer. Life Born in Basel, Kelterborn studied in Basel, Detmold, Salzburg, and Zürich, among other places, with the composers Walther Geiser, Willy Burkhard, Boris Blacher, Günter Bialas, and Wolfgang Fortner. In his own teaching career, Kelterborn has served as a lecturer and professor at a number of music colleges in Germany and in Switzerland, where he directed the Basel Music Academy from 1983 to 1994. Kelterborn also headed the music division of Swiss German radio from 1974 to 1980. Farther afield, Kelterborn held guest lecturerships in the United States, England, Japan, China, and Eastern Europe. His works have been performed throughout Europe, the United States, and Japan, and he was also active as a conductor on the international scene. He died in Basel aged 89. Éric Tappy (born 19 May 1931) is a Swiss operatic tenor.Jacques Lonchampt ''L'opéra aujourd'hui; journal de musique'', 1970 p153 "On a découvert un étonnant Zoroastre en Éric Tappy." Tappy was born in Lausanne. He studied with Fernando Carpi at the Geneva Conservatory and with Ernst Reichert in Salzburg. He made his concert debut in Strasbourg in 1959 as the Evangelist in the St. Matthew Passion. He made his American debut as Don Ottavio at the San Francisco Opera in 1974. That same year, the tenor first appeared at Covent Garden, in the name part of ''La clemenza di Tito''. Among his recordings are ''L'Orfeo'' (1968), ''Pelléas et Mélisande'' (conducted by Armin Jordan, 1979), and ''Die Zauberflöte'' (opposite Ileana Cotrubaș as Pamina with Zdzisława Donat as the Queen of Night, conducted by James Levine, 1980).
