2024 World Men's Curling Championship
The World Curling Championships are the annual world championships for curling, organized by the World Curling Federation and contested by national championship teams. There are men's, women's and mixed doubles championships, as well as men's and women's versions of junior and senior championships. There is also a world championship for wheelchair curling. The men's championship started in 1959, while the women's started in 1979. The mixed doubles championship was started in 2008. Since 2005, the men's and women's championships have been held in different venues, with Canada hosting one of the two championships every year: the men's championship in odd years, and the women's championship in even years. Obersiggenthal is a municipality located in the Limmat Valley, within the district of Baden, in the canton of Aargau, Switzerland. History Obersiggenthal is first mentioned around 1303-08 as ''Sikental''. Geography Obersiggenthal has an area, , of . Of this area, 35.6% is used for agricultural purposes, while 43.5% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 19.6% is settled (buildings or roads) and the remainder (1.3%) is non-productive (rivers or lakes). The municipality is located in the Baden district, between the ''Siggenberg'' and the Limmat river. Zofingen
Zofingen (french: Zofingue) is a city in the canton of Aargau in Switzerland. It is the capital of the district of Zofingen. Zofingen is a walled city and home of an ancient monastic settlement. History In ancient times Zofingen was a settlement of the Celtic Helvetii. In later times the Romans built a manor. The Alemanni settled in the 6th century and formed one of the oldest parishes in Aargau. In the 11th century the House of Frohburg founded a canons monastery. The town was founded in 1201 by the counts of Frohburg. 1231 was the first written mention of Zofingen, which in 1299 came in the possession of the Habsburgs. In 1415 the Bernese conquered the city and in 1528 they introduced the Reformation. Since 1803 Zofingen has belonged to the canton of Aargau and has become a regional center. "The Code" is a song by Swiss singer Nemo (singer), Nemo. It was written by Nemo along with three other songwriters, and was released on 29 February 2024 through Better Now Records. Nemo (rapper)
Nemo Mettler (born 3 August 1999), known mononymously as Nemo, is a Swiss musician and singer-rapper who plays the violin, piano and drums. They were the first openly non-binary act to represent in the Eurovision Song Contest, and later won the 2024 contest with the song " The Code". They were the first openly non-binary musician to win the contest, and the third winner representing Switzerland (following the 1956 and 1988 competitions).
