Svenska Serien (literally, "The Swedish Series", also Svenska Fotbollserien, "The Swedish Football Series") was the highest league in Swedish football, and was played 1910–1917, 1920–1921, and 1922–1924. It was then replaced by the current-day league Allsvenskan. Despite being the highest league, the winner of Svenska Serien did not become Swedish Champions; instead, that title was awarded to the winner of the cup tournament Svenska Mästerskapet Svenska Mästerskapet was a Swedish football competition held as a cup to decide the Swedish Champions between 1896 and 1925. Tvillingderbyt (, "The Twin Derby") is a football fixture in Stockholm, Sweden, between cross-town rivals AIK Stockholm and Djurgårdens IF. Both clubs were founded in Stockholm in 1891, AIK was first with Djurgårdens IF following three weeks later, but they started playing football in 1896 (AIK) and 1899 (Djurgårdens IF) respectively. History AIK started playing football in 1896, while Djurgårdens IF Fotboll started in 1899. IFK Malmö Fotboll
IFK Malmö football team is a section of Swedish sports club IFK Malmö based in Malmö. The club is affiliated with Skånes Fotbollförbund and play their home games at Malmö Stadion. 1924–25 Allsvenskan
The 1924–25 Allsvenskan, part of the 1924–25 Swedish football season, was the inaugural season of Sweden's new first-tier football league, replacing Svenska Serien, which had been the name of the top tier since 1910. The first match was played on 3 August 1924 and the last match was played on 7 June 1925. GAIS won the league ahead of runners-up IFK Göteborg, while Västerås IK and Hammarby IF were relegated. A total of 12 teams participated in the league; 11 teams had played in Svenska Serien for the 1923–24 season and one team, Västerås IK, had played in Division 2. Hammarby IF Fotbollförening, more commonly known as Hammarby Fotboll or Hammarby ( or, especially locally, ), is a Swedish football club from Stockholm founded in 1915. The club is based at Tele2 Arena in Johanneshov but founded in the neighbouring Södermalm district of Stockholm City Centre, an area the club considers its heartland.
