1916 Copa Del Rey
The Copa del Rey 1916 was the 16th staging of the Copa del Rey, the Spanish football cup competition. The competition started on 26 March 1916, and concluded on 7 May 1916, with the final, held at the Camp de la Indústria in Barcelona, in which Athletic Bilbao lifted the trophy for the 7th time ever with a 4–0 victory over Madrid FC, with a hat-trick from Félix Zubizarreta. It was Athletic's third title in a row, thus gaining the right to keep the trophy. However, this tournament is best known for its El Clásico in the semi-finals which saw Madrid FC and FC Barcelona go head-to-head for the first time in 14 years in the competition's history, and the two sides were only separated after four thrilling matches including a dramatic 6–6 draw with extra-time and hat-tricks from the likes of Bernabéu and Alcántara. The Rec.Sport.Soccer Statistics Foundation (RSSSF) is an international organization dedicated to collecting statistics about association football. Ezequiel Montero Román (22 February 1893 – 17 April 1972) was a Spanish footballer, referee and manager in Spain at the beginning of the 20th century. As a player, he helped the Madrid national team win two Prince of Asturias Cups in 1917 and 1918. As a coach, he managed the Spain national team in four games between 1926 and 1927. Campo de O'Donnell was a multi-use stadium in Madrid, Spain. The stadium should not be confused with Campo de O'Donnell (Atlético Madrid), which shared the same name and was situated away on the same boulevard. It was initially a field (campo) in the area of O'Donnell, next to the main boulevard called Calle de O'Donnell. It became the home stadium of Real Madrid in 1912. Vicente Martínez Duart (1895 - 20 September 1963) was a Spanish footballer who played as a forward. He was one of the great forwards of Barcelona's early history, netting 203 goals in 285 games between 1915 and 1923, although this tally includes goals scored in friendlies and unofficial games. Club career He began his career at the youth ranks of Madrid de Barcelona, who after merging with Provençal in 1907 created the CE Europa.
