The 1903 Cork Senior Hurling Championship was the 17th staging of the Cork Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Cork County Board in 1887. Dungourney were the defending champions. Blackrock won the championship following a 2–8 to 1–10 defeat of St. Finbarr's in the final. This was their ninth championship title and their first title in five championship seasons. Blackrock GAA
Blackrock National Hurling Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club located on the southside of Cork City, Ireland. The club was founded in 1883 and is primarily concerned with the game of hurling. No other Cork-based GAA club has won more Senior County Hurling titles or All-Ireland Club Championships. The club is sometimes known as 'The Rockies'. History Blackrock Hurling Club was officially founded in 1883, one year before the foundation of the Gaelic Athletic Association itself. Steva Riordan
Stephen John Riordan (24 December 1876 – 23 August 1942) was an Irish hurling, hurler who played for Cork Senior Hurling Championship, Cork Championship club Blackrock GAA, Blackrock. He played for the Cork senior hurling team for six years, during which time he usually lined out as a half-forward. Riordan began his hurling career at club level with Blackrock. He broke onto the club's top adult team in 1898 Cork Senior Hurling Championship, 1898, a year in which he won his first Cork Senior Hurling Championship, Cork Championship title. Riordan won a further six championship titles with Blackrock. At inter-county level, Riordan joined the Cork senior team in 1902 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, 1902. Dungourney GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Dungourney, County Cork, Ireland. The club fields teams in both Gaelic football and hurling. It is a member of the Imokilly division of Cork GAA. The club was one of the strongest clubs in the Cork during the first decade of the 20th century. Its 3 Cork Senior Hurling Championship titles were the most by a club outside Cork City for many years. The best known player is Jamesy Kelleher who was included on Cork's Hurling Team of the Century. In 1902, the club represented Cork in the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship. Turners Cross is an all-seater football stadium located in and synonymous with the district of Turners Cross in Cork, Ireland. It is owned by the Munster Football Association (MFA), and is used by the MFA and by League of Ireland side Cork City. It was the first all-seated, all-covered stadium in Ireland following redevelopment in 2009, and it is currently one out of only two, the other being the Aviva Stadium. St Finbarr's National Hurling & Football Club or St Finbarr's Hurling and Football Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the Togher area of Cork city, County Cork, Ireland. St Finbarr's, who play in royal blue and gold jerseys, are the only club in Ireland to win All-Ireland club championships in both hurling and football. The club has won Cork County Senior Championships in every decade except the first decade of the 21st century. This record was almost upheld in 2009 when the club reached the final in the Cork County Senior Football Championship, only to lose out by a point to Clonakilty.
