Johannes Steenstrup
Johannes Japetus Smith Steenstrup FRS(For) HFRSE (8 March 1813 – 20 June 1897) was a Danish zoologist, biologist, and professor. Life Born in Vang, Thy on 8 March 1813, he held a lectorate in mineralogy in Sorø until 1845 when he became a professor of zoology at the University of Copenhagen. He worked on a great many subjects, including cephalopods, and also in genetics, where he discovered the principle of the alternation of generations in some parasitic worms in 1842. Steenstrup discovered (1842) the possibility of using the subfossils of the Postglacial as a means of interpreting climate changes and correlated vegetation change, which he called succession in the recent past. Two of Steenstrup's students, Christian Vaupell and Eugen Warming further developed this line of research. Carsten Henrichsen
Carsten Henrichsen (23 September 1824 - 30 April -1897) was a Danish landscape painter. Biography Henrichsen was born into a working-class family in Copenhagen in 1824. He at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts from 1840 to 1845 and took drawing lessons with Frederik Ferdinand Helsted in 1845–40. From the late 1840s, he created vast number of paintings from Copenhagen and North Zealand. He received the Neuhausen Award in 1855 and a grant from the Academy in 1858. Christen Dalsgaard
Christen Dalsgaard (30 October 1824 – 11 February 1907) was a Danish painter, a late student of Christoffer Wilhelm Eckersberg. Biography Early life and education Christen Dalsgaard was born on 30 October 1824. He was the son of the owner of the estate, Krabbesholm Manor, located near Skive in Jutland. He showed early signs of artistic talent, and received training as a craft painter. In the spring of 1841 Niels Rademacher, a visiting landscape painter, encouraged the young artist and convinced his parents of their son's talent. Later that year he traveled to Copenhagen and began his art studies at the Royal Danish Academy of Art (''Det Kongelige Danske Kunstakademi'') in October 1841. In December 1841 he began private studies with painter Martinus Rørbye. These lessons continued until 1847. Liva Weel
Olivia Marie Olsen (31 December 1897 – 22 May 1952), nicknamed Liva Weel, was a Danish singer, comedian, and actress. Although she was trained in classical singing, her signature songs and performances were ballads. Upbringing Weel grew up in Vesterbro, Copenhagen, where she lived with her parents (detective Carlo Martin Ingomar Olsen and wife Marie Christine Dorthea Olivia Josephine Olsen) at the Mysundegade apartment on Istedgade street. At the age of 17, she began to train her voice with opera singer and music educator Hedevig Quiding (16 September 1867 - 22 October 1936). She also received singing training from Vilhelm Herold. Her first performance was in 1917 at a tea party arranged by Hedevig Quiding. She later committed to singing duties at Revues in theatres at Odder Municipality and Nykøbing Falster. Arthur Jensen (actor)
Arthur Jensen (9 November 1897 – 28 November 1981) was a Danish actor whose career lasted for almost 60 years. He made his début on stage at the Royal Danish Theatre in 1923, and he had his big screen début in the silent film '' Pas på pigerne'' in 1930.
