Charlotte Lindmark
Charlotte Lindmark (18 October 1819 in Stockholm – 2 April 1858 in Stockholm) was a Swedish ballet dancer and stage actress. She was regarded a member of the Royal Swedish Ballet in 1834–39, and engaged as a stage actress at the Royal Dramatic Theatre (1842–45) and the ''Mindre teatern'' (1845–58) in Stockholm. She enjoyed great popularity and was one of the most famed actresses in Sweden in the mid 19th-century. Life Charlotte Lindmark was the daughter of a poor milliner. She made her stage debut in the Children's theater of Anders Selinder. She became a student of the Royal Swedish Ballet in 1829 and ballerina in 1834. She was a popular and talented ballerina, but was affected by gout to such a degree that she was forced to retire in 1839. She made her debut as an actress at the Royal Dramatic Theatre, and was regarded to have displayed good talent, but was not considered to live up to the expectations. Ulla Stenberg
Ulla (Johanna Ulrica) Stenberg, née Colliander (1792–1858) was a Swedish damask maker. Stenberg was the daughter of vicar Nils Johan Colliander in Jönköping. She was professional damask maker from 1822, and had her own weaving school from 1830. She also designed her own damask patterns. She participated in the art exhibitions at the Prince Carl Palace in Stockholm 1834-40 and in Stockholm and London in 1851 and Paris in 1855. Karl Gustaf Mosander
Carl Gustaf Mosander (10 September 1797 – 15 October 1858) was a Swedish chemist. He discovered the rare earth elements lanthanum, erbium and terbium. Early life and education Born in Kalmar, Mosander attended school there until he moved to Stockholm with his mother in 1809. In Stockholm, he became an apprentice at the ''Ugglan'' pharmacy. He took his pharmacy examination in 1817, but had an interest in medicine and joined the Karolinska Institute in 1820. He passed his medical examination in 1825. He worked in the laboratory of Jöns Jakob Berzelius and became a close friend of fellow student Friedrich Wöhler. Career In 1832 Jöns Jakob Berzelius retired in favor of his student Carl Gustaf Mosander who succeeded him as professor of chemistry and pharmacy in the Karolinska Institute. Marie Kinnberg
Marie Kinnberg (1806–30 March 1858) was a pioneering Swedish photographer and painter. In 1851, she learnt how to operate the daguerreotype process and the following year opened a studio in Gothenburg. Active as a portrait painter, Marie Kinnberg was a student of Bernhard Bendixen and Adolf Meyer, two photographers from Germany, who introduced the then new photographic technique with pictures on paper in Sweden, and gave lessons in this technique during their stay in Gothenburg in the summer of 1851. Marie Kinnberg thus belonged to the pioneers of the new photographic technique in Sweden when she opened her own professional studio in Gothenburg on 8 May 1852. Kata Dalström
Anna Maria Katarina "Kata" Dalström, née Carlberg (18 December 1858 – 11 December 1923), was a Swedish socialist and writer. She belonged to the leading socialist agitators and leftist writers in contemporary Sweden, and has been referred to as "the mother of the Swedish socialist working class movement". Early life Kata Dalström was born as Anna Maria in Emtöholm, Västervik Municipality, Kalmar County, into the wealthy family of professor Johan Oskar Carlberg and Maria Augusta Carlswärd. Her personality, considered unruly for a girl at the time, earned her the contemporary Swedish moniker , meaning 'intrepid'. She was educated at the girls' school of Emilie Risberg in Örebro from 1868 to 1872, and studied in preparation for a ''studentexamen''.
