Peter Erasmus Müller
Peter Erasmus Müller (29 May 1776 – 4 September 1834), was a Danish historian, linguist, theologian, and bishop of the Diocese of Zealand from 1830 until his death. Career Müller studied at the University of Copenhagen, where he passed his theological examination in 1791. After spending some time at various German universities, he visited France and England. Returning to Denmark, he wrote numerous works and was appointed professor of theology at the University of Copenhagen in 1801. During his time as a professor, he produced a large number of essays and books about theology, history, and linguistics. As a result of the fame these works earned him, he was appointed a member of the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences and Letters in 1811 and joined the Arnamagnæan Institute in 1815. Following the death of Friedrich Münter in 1830, he was appointed the Bishop of Zealand, the highest ecclesiastical dignity in Denmark at the time. Carl Lange (physician)
Carl Georg Lange (4 December 1834 – 29 May 1900) was a Danish physician who made contributions to the fields of neurology, psychiatry, and psychology. Born to a wealthy family in Vordingborg, Denmark, Lange attended medical school at the University of Copenhagen and graduated in 1859 with a reputation for brilliance. After publishing on the neurological pathologies of aphasia, bulbar palsy, tabes dorsalis, and pathologies of the spinal cord, he achieved world fame with his 1885 work "On Emotions: A Psycho-Physiological Study". In it, he posited that all emotions are developed from, and can be reduced to, physiological reactions to stimuli. Seemingly independently, the American William James had published a similar work the year before, but unlike James, Lange specifically stated that vasomotor changes ''are'' emotions. Valdemar Oldenburg
Valdemar Oldenburg (1 December 1834 – 6 June 1918) was a Danish jurist who served as Lord President () of Copenhagen. Early life and education Oldenburg was born in Sorterup as the son of T. Oldenburg (1805–1842) and Louise Rothe (1808–1891). His father was the local pastor. He matriculated from Copenhagen's Metropolitan School in 1853 before enrolling at the University of Copenhagen from where he achieved his law degree in 1859. He worked as an assistant in the Ministry for Slesvig from 1859 and passed the Slesvig legal exam in 1861. Career Oldenburg was employed as military prosecutor in 1863 but was fired during the army reduction of 1866. He then taught at the Naval Officers' School until 1871 and the Army Officers' School (1868–1872) before once again being appointed as an army prosecutor in 1870. Poul Villiam Borum (15 October 1934 – 10 May 1996) was a Danish writer, poet and critic. He was editor of the influential Danish literary magazine ''Hvedekorn'' from 1968 to his death in 1996.
