Amalia Redec
Amalia Redec (4 May 1812 – 21 November 1885), was a Swedish pianist and composer. She was a concert pianist and a piano teacher and she produced compositions for piano music in the style of the Romanticism of the 1850s. Life She was born to the businessman Eric Esaias Setterborg and Helena Charlotta Bronander and married in 1834 to the businessman Johan Peter Redec (d. 1850). Her spouse went bankrupt, and as a widow, she settled in Gothenburg, where she worked as a piano teacher at the Societetsskolan and the girls' school Matilda Halls skola. She is also known to have performed in public piano concerts. Her music was, for the most part, easily accessible music intended for entertaining in the home and for amateurs, in a time period were every lady above the working class was expected to be able to entertain with piano music at home. Carolina Lindström
Carolina Lindström, née ''Lundström'' (1812–1892), was a Swedish milliner. She was known in Stockholm as "Evening Star", because she was often seen working during the night. Life Her mother was a business woman and she herself saved her money until she could afford to become an apprentice to the top hat maker in Stockholm, a French woman. Lindström had her own shop at Västerlånggatan 40 in 1842. She had a large web of contacts; at the death of the king in 1844, she was alerted by the footmen at the royal palace so that she was able to acquire all the black mourning ribbons from the other milliners in the capital before the death had been publicly known. She was very successful and opened a second shop at Hornsgatan. In 1847, she married a man who squandered all her money on gambling, but she quickly recouped it. Louise Granberg
Louise Elisabeth Granberg (29 October 1812 – 28 December 1907), was a Swedes, Swedish playwright, translator and theatre director. Granberg was born in Stockholm, the daughter of the actor and writer Per Adolf Granberg and Jeanetta Vilhelmina Hedmansson. She was the sister of the playwright Jeanette Granberg (1825–1857). From 1849 forward, she translated and wrote plays, sometimes jointly with her sister, under used the pseudonym Carl Blink. During the season 1860–61, her play ''Johan Fredman'' was staged at Mindre teatern in Stockholm. ''Tvänne ringar'' was first performed at the Mindre teatern in 1861 and ''Familjen Mohrin'' premiered at the Nya theatre in 1876. In 1861, she married Edvard Stjernström, founder of the Swedish Theatre (Stockholm) and the widower of her sister. From 1877–1880, she was the "very able" director of the theatre. Josabeth Sjöberg
Josabeth Fredrica Paulina Sjöberg (30 June 1812 – 29 December 1882) was a Swedish painter and music teacher. She is best known for the interior portraits she made of her twelve successive homes in Södermalm, where she spent most of her life. She also did a series of interiors from churches and retirement homes for women. Biography Sjöberg was born in Stockholm, Sweden. She came from a family in the upper ranks of the bourgeoisie. Her mother, (1771–1831), was an actor and singer who spent most of her time reading. Herman Sätherberg
Karl or Carl Herman Sätherberg (May 19, 1812 in Botkyrka socken – January 9, 1897 in Stockholm) was a Swedish poet and (orthopedic) physician. Sätherberg became a medical doctor in 1843 and travelled with the corvette ''Karlskrona'' to the Mediterranean 1844–1845. The journey is described in the books ''Utflykter på hafvet'' 1-2. In 1847, he succeeded Nils Åkerman as director of the ''Orthopedic Institute'' in Stockholm, where he remained until 1879. Sätherberg was very active in the development of Physical therapy in Sweden. The theme that he was most known for in his poetry was nature, but he also wrote plays and epic poems. His poem ''Blomsterkonungen'', a homage to Carl von Linné, was widely read.
