Ingebrigt Haldorsen Sæter
Ingebrigt Haldorsen Sæter (24 June 1800 – 3 May 1875) was a Norwegian politician and farmer with connection to the ''peasant opposition'' and the democracy movement. He was Member of The Norwegian Parliament for 40 years with disruption of parliamentary sessions 1859–60 and 1862–63, as he was deputy representative. Biography Youth Sæter was born in Oppdal. He grew up in a haugiansk influenced environment at the farm Bøasæter in Oppdal and went to a moving school (moving from place to place at random intervals), which offered limited learning. The parish priest Cornelius Thomas Rønnau, was a source of salvation. He made a great contribution towards education, training and rural development, and ensured that children received additional training. Christian Lassen
Christian Lassen (22 October 1800 – 8 May 1876) was a Norwegian-born, German orientalist and Indologist. He was a professor of Old Indian language and literature at the University of Bonn. Biography He was born at Bergen, Norway where he attended Bergen Cathedral School. Having received an education at the University of Oslo, he moved to Germany and continued his studies at the University of Heidelberg and the University of Bonn where Lassen acquired a sound knowledge of Sanskrit. He spent three years in Paris and London, engaged in copying and collating manuscripts, and collecting materials for future research, especially with reference to Hindu drama and philosophy. During this period he published, jointly with Eugène Burnouf, his first work, ''Essai sur le Pâli'' (Paris, 1826). Christian Cornelius Paus (18 October 1800 – 8 April 1879) was a Norwegian lawyer, civil servant and politician. He was Governor of Bratsberg (now Telemark) and a Member of the Norwegian Parliament. Background He was born at Skien in Telemark, Norway. He belonged to both the Norwegian patrician Paus and Plesner families.
