Johan Ernst Berg
Johan Ernst Berg (19 October 1768 – 15 October 1828) was a Norwegian jurist, politician, and civil servant. Berg was born on the Blussuvoll farm in the parish of Strinda in Søndre Trøndhjems amt, Norway. He was the son of a farmer Haaken Larsen Blussuvolden. He graduated as a lawyer in 1795 (during the time of Denmark–Norway) and became an agent with the Danish general post in 1802. In 1803, he became bailiff in the Salten district of Nordland county. In 1815, he was appointed to the post of County Governor of Nordlands amt. During his time in office, he was also elected to the Norwegian Parliament in 1815-1817 and 1826, representing the county in which he lived. is the largest Norwegian biographical encyclopedia. The first edition (NBL1) was issued between 1921 and 1983, including 19 volumes and 5,100 articles. Morten Leuch
Morten Leuch (15 April 1732 – 24 January 1768) was a Norwegian timber trader and landowner. He was the owner of Bogstad Manor at Sørkedalen . Biography Morten Leuch was born in Christiania (now Oslo), Norway. He was the son of merchant Peter Mortensen Leuch (1692–1746) and Anna Catharina Hellesen. His father had founded the company Collett & Leuch together with Peter Collett (1694–1740). After several years of education abroad, Morten Leuch returned to Norway in 1754 and joined the company Collett & Leuch with his future brother-in-law James Collett (1728–1794). Leuch was the owner of Bogstad (''Bogstadgodset''), which he inherited in 1756 after his grandmother's death. He was married in 1758 to Mathia Collett, (1737-1801) the sister of his partner. Christian Braunmann Tullin wrote the poem "Maidagen" to their wedding. Leuch died at the age of 36 in 1769. Joen Jacobsen
Joen Jacobsen (1714 – 12 January 1768) was a Norwegian master builder. He was born in Skien to carpenter Jacob Vetlesen. He was responsible for the construction of a number of churches in Telemark, including Langesund Church (from 1753 onwards), Vestre Porsgrunn Church (1756–1758), Østre Porsgrunn Church ( finished 1760) and Solum Church Solum Church ( no, Solum kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Skien Municipality in Telemark county, Norway. It is located in the village of Solum, just west of the town of Skien. It is one of the churches for the ''Kilebygda og ... (finished 1766). Gunnerus Library
The Gunnerus Library in Trondheim is the oldest scientific library in Norway and dates back to 1768 when it was the library of the Royal Norwegian Society of Sciences and Letters (DKNVS). The library is named after bishop Johan Ernst Gunnerus (1718–1773). The Gunnerus Library is among the most important historical libraries in Scandinavia due to its rich collection from the 18th century. It focuses especially on the academic fields of archaeology, botany and zoology, but is also a general scientific library with an extensive collections in the history of culture and sciences, as well as genealogy and local history. The library is open to the public and is mainly frequented by scientists and students from the NTNU and local historians. The Gunnerus library is located in Trondheim's neighborhood of Kalvskinnet. Tromøya
Tromøya () or Tromøy () (historic: ''Tromø'') is the largest island in Southern Norway. The island is entirely located in the municipality of Arendal in Agder county, Norway. The island has about 5,300 residents (in 2015) which gives it a population density of about . The island is located directly across the harbor from the town of Arendal. The highest point on the island is the tall Vardåsen.
